Darn good, feeds a crowd, needs the garlic and woster to really pick up flavour.

This is quick and tasty. I used roasted garlic mushroom soup instead of adding garlic and as someone else suggested, a package of dry ranch dressing mix. I'm sure the leftovers will be even better!

This dish is tasty, simple, and easy, but I wouldn't say it's a recipe for authentic beef stroganoff. This is more like a Hamburger Helper Beef Stroganoff in taste, appearance, and texture. So if that's what you're looking for, try this recipe, but if you're looking for the real thing, keep looking.

This gets 4 stars for what it is... a simple stick-to-your-ribs meal-especially over mashed potatoes(yes, throw in a veg side). I've been making it for years. Substantial improvement is made by taking the time to brown the meat and onions (some garlic is nice too). If you have real mushrooms it helps as well. I've used cream cheese at times to sub for the sour cream and tomato soup is a nice change for the canned 'cream of whatever' generally used. This is a starter-recipe to be varied with 'what have I got in the cupboards/fridge'. I don't think mine has ever been the same twice, and I can't recall anyone throwing it away. No, it is NOT steak and you wouldn't take it to the company pot-luck, but it is a keeper due to it's ease and flexibility, low-cost, and widespread appeal.ymmv

I make this a lot, but my recipe calls for worchestershire sauce...add as much as you'd like. Also I add 1 cup of sour cream. It is one of my sons favorites!

Really simple and nice flavor- a bit creamier than I needed, next time will add more mushrooms and less or no cream cheese-I also thought it was a bit bland for my tastes and added some worsteshire and salt- way better for me that way! Whole family liked it though! Will definitely make it again with those changes.

This recipe sounded easy, but somewhat bland. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to make a few changes. In addition to the listed ingredients I add the following: 1/2 a chopped onion and two cloves of garlic (both cooked up with the ground beef), a can of cream of celery soup, a good couple shakes of worsteshire sauce and an envelope of dry ranch dressing (the ranch dressing mix was an awesome idea that I never would have thought of myself!). The outcome was a delicious, quick and easy dinner! No one is trying to call this a gourmet meal, but for a tasty and hearty home cooked dinner this definitely fits the bill.

This was good. I used turkey instead of beef though and I did add a little more garlic powder than it called for. My kids really liked it.

I like traditional stroganoff, and thought that ground beef would be a good, but cheaper version. It was remarkably bland and the first recipe I have made that my fiance has not cared for. However, I agree that it is a good starter recipe, and with some creativity, has potential.

I made this recipe, but instead of using the ground beef, I used the leftover beef from the Burgundy Roast Beef with Savory Sauce recipe which was emailed on 3/20/08. I used the leftover sauce as well in addition to the cream of mushroom soup and sour cream. The whole dish was superb! I cut the beef into bite sized pieces and then added the rest. It was great!

One of my families favorites for a fast meal. I fry fresh garlic with the hamburger for more flavor and serve over rice.

This recipe wasn't too bad. I started to make it and realized I was out of ground beef. I substituted diced chicken breast and used cream of chicken instead of mushroom. I also added a lot more garlic and a cans of peas. My husband said the noodles were a little "plain" and would have been better mixed in with the sauce than served on top. Not too bad, not my absolute favorite.

Found this recipe after a long day and didn't have a lot of energy. Added some mushrooms and extra garlic. Cooked a vegetable on the side and it made for a great, easy meal. I disagree with other reviewers, this is a good, simple recipe. Sometimes it doesn't need to be a culinary sensation, just easy and filling.

This old standby has been around for at least 40 years. I only resorted to it when money was tight and I was desperate for a filling meal for the family. It's nothing great and was surprised to not only see it here but some thought it was wonderful. What a crack up!!

Not a bad recipe. We liked it, and I'll probably make it again. Only next time I'll probably add a little extra sour cream. The dish did turn out a little dryer than I expected.
