This was very delicious and the hit of the dinner plate! Served with rice, broccoli and pork chops, which it complemented well. I used golden delicious apples, substituted extra cinammon for the cloves (personal preference) and used dried cranberries instead of nuts and raisins since that's what I had on hand. Very yummy - I ate more for dessert! I'll keep this recipe on hand!

I thought these were very good! I didn't measure the walnuts and added dried cranberries as others suggested and I didn't have any raisins on hand. I also covered my dish (as other suggested) and I found there was too much milk still left after cooking for 40 minutes. I recommend covering for 1/2 the time, then uncovering to allow the milk to get evaporated a little bit. Also, I forgot to grease my baking dish and didnt really have a hard time cleaning it, thankfully! I will make these again.

They were very good. Used 1/4 c raisins and 1/4 dried cherries. Used Splenda and skim milk instead of sugar & whole milk. Served them hot with sugar-free (splenda) frozen vanilla yogurt! YUM!

Absolutely YUMMY! Made it with Splenda in place of the sugar because I'm diabetic and my daughter is always on a diet. Used a handful of frozen cranberries for color and tart counterpoint. Makes a lovely dessert. This would be wonderful served hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream melting on top. It's a keeper!!

These were easy and delicious! I left the nuts out because I knew the kids would complain, but it would definitely be good with nuts.

Great recipe. My family loved it. The only change I made was to dot with butter before baking. Also I would recommend stirring occasionally during baking. Served with ham steak and sweet potatoes. I will be trying leftovers tomorrow morning with french toast. Thanks for the recipe!

Good. My family and I love baked apples. My family enjoyed this recipe. The only suggestion I have is to add less raisins. I would reduce it to 1/4 c of raisins.

We thought these were great. I even added gluten-free flour to the recipe (because of my husband's wheat allergy) and it was delicious.

This recipe is wonderful. I made it to go with pork chops. Everyone thourghly enjoyed it, and it was easy to make. The hardest/ most time consuming part was peeling and slicing the apples!

I made this side dish for Thanksgiving & everyone really enjoyed! Used 6 large Granny Smith Apples and added Craisins (don't like raisins). Took other reviewers advice & mixed in some vanilla extract to the milk... not sure it made any difference or not. I also tossed apples with lemon juice as I was peeling/slicing to avoid any browning prior to baking. Leftover apples were still great 2 days later reheated! Thanks for sharing.

I tried it because it didn't have added butter. The flour was not to my taste. I think I'll try the sauteed apples next time.
