These were definitely simple! I would try making your own BBQ sauce, or using one that you really love. I got a different sauce than I usually buy and it just wasn't out of this world. But the ribs were so tender! I used boneless country style ribs and boiled them for about 45 minutes before baking about 2 hours. This was even better knowing that I got the ribs on sale!

Delicious!! The only thing I did different is after boiling them for an hour I put them in a oven bag and baked them for an 1H and 15 min. Thanks for the recipe

These ribs are AWESOME! Was very hesitant about boiling the ribs before baking - thought it would suck the flavor out. Had some country style ribs in the frezzer that I had gotten on sale and did not know what to do with. Followed other reviewers suggestions and added soy sauce, onion, garlic and a dash of worsteshire to the water - boiled one hour. Put in baking pan, covered with Sweet Baby Rays & baked on low for an hour. THE BEST ribs I have EVER had!! Will make these over & over again! Thanks!

These were edible but not good. Boiling the ribs, sucked the flavor right out! I thought I would try it because this recipe had such a great rating... don't do it!

The flavor was really good, but they didn't fall off the bones as well as I would have wanted them too - but it was my first time cooking ribs in the oven, so I'll definitely try it again!

Absolutely the best ribs I've ever made. The only problem I had was finding enough ribs for everyone to gorge on. No need for any other rib recipe!

Instead of salt I used a cup of soy sauce and WOW - these were by far the best ribs I've ever made! Everyone loved them. Can't wait to try this out on chicken too. This is my new rib recipe and we can finally enjoy BBQ Ribs in the winter now! Thanks for a great recipe.

I tried this recipe out based on all the positive reviews and boy, were they good!!! I made them for my family then had to leave for an appointment. They called me and were all on speakerphone raving, oohing and awing. My oldest said they were better than Chili's ribs. I followed the recipe pretty closely. I had about 4-1/2 lbs. of ribs so I almost doubled the seasonings and I chop a half of an onion into the pot too. Boiled for 1 hour, baked for 1 hour & 15 minute with Stubb's BBQ sauce. They were so tender and delicious and I will definitely be making these again!

Just finished these up for dinner, very good. Mine did not fall off the bone, but still tasted very good. Doubling the recipe was the only change I made. Also used Sweet Baby Ray's Sauce - yum!

I have been making ribs similar to this for over 40 years. However, I add 3 cloves of garlic to the water and "simmer" do not boil, for about 1 hour. Then smother ribs in your favorite barbeque sauce and place under oven broiler for about4-5 minutes, turn and add more sauce for another 4-5 minutes. Absolutely delicious!

I have often cooked ribs in this style and sosmetimes I add an additional step. If you are going to finish the ribs on the BBQ grill, I cook the boiled ribs on the grill for a few minutes ( only 5 to 10 minutes) and then sauce them up for the real grilling. These extra few minutes on the grill before adding the sauce tightens up the meat to make them more like only grilled ribs. If you go right from the boiling process to grilling sauced ribs, there is a great chance of burning the ribs due to the high sugar content of the sauce.

I made regular spare ribs. You know, the cheap stuff the supermarket puts on sale. I cut 4 1/2 lbs of ribs into individual pieces. Added them to a pot of water with 1 tbl chopped garlic, 10 peppercorns, 1/4 cup worcestershire sauce, tsp of salt, 1 medium quartered onion. I brought all to a boil and then lowered the heat and barely simmered for 1 1/2 hours. Poured off the liquid and then poured barbecue sauce over all. Let it sit in sauce until I was ready, and then grilled over medium heat, basting occaisionly until they looked like I like them! Everyone loved them!! No fuss no muss and very adaptable to your taste.

Made this recipe with the modifications suggested by BOONIE12, reviewed on May 2007. I omitted the salt, and added 1 c. soy sauce to the water. Since I had double the ribs I boiled the for 1 hr. 15 minutes, and then let them sit in the broth cooling for 2 hours. When removed to place on the grill to finish, they were already falling off the bone. That wasn't a bad thing, but I think I will reduce boiling time to 45 minutes next time, as the ribs will continue to cook while cooling. I threw them on a medium heat grill with sauce for 5 minutes on each side, and there were no leftovers. I am very happy with this no fail recipe, as grilling country style ribs in the past resulted in tough ribs. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.

This recipe was wonderful! I used beef ribs instead of pork and I used sweet baby rays BBQ sauce. I think I should have used pork ribs because the beef ones just didn't seem to want to fall off the bone. They did however come of quite easy using a fork so I am still giving many kudos to this recipe! Next time I will be using pork ribs and i bet you I will get the falling of the bone effect! Thanks for this good recipe
