Love this for a quick and light summer meal. I used dried parsley and basil, and substituted mushrooms for peas. My family loved it.

This had some really good flavors, but it was way too greasy! The recipe calls for two sticks of butter; and you feel like you're eating two sticks of butter with each bite. Also, the cream cheese does not smoothe out. This won't be a repeat in our family.

We make this all the time. I like to add more mushrooms and shrimp than this calls for. If you want the sauce to be a little creamier, add more cream cheese. Parmesan is good to add at the last minute!

This was very good. Added Parmesean cheese, onion and used milk and wine instead of water. Sauteed shrimp in chili oil before added to the sauce.

I gave this recipe 5 stars, but it was probably more like 4 1/2. Everyone in the family absolutely loved it. I did add onions to the mushroom saute, and that added a little more flavor. Next time I will add some red peppers or maybe some diced tomatoes just to give it a little something extra. I will definitely be making it again soon!

This was amazing and so Deliicous! Instead of water I used heavy whipping cream made the sauce more thick and creamier.

I made this for myself and it was fantastic! It was pretty easy too. Iused half of the water and added white wine as suggested. I also added parmesan which really helped bring out the flavor. My husband doesn't really like shrimp or mushrooms but he said it was pretty good, next time I will add chicken and see how that turns out.

It was a little too runny so I added a little heavy whipping cream, some asiago and romano cheeses, and shallots. I've never tried cream cheese in a white sauce but it turned out awesome.

This is an excellent recipe! As per other comments we made it with skim milk instead of water. And instead of with shrimp we served it with chicken cordon bleu.

The day of, I rate it 3 stars, the sauce is too saucy. But re-heated the next day, everything is restaurant quality. Leftovers get 5 stars. Yummy.

Delicious recipe!! I did go along with some of the recommendations listed here and used 1 lb of raw shrimp, 6 cloves of garlic, no water, but used 1/4 cup white wine and 1/4 cup milk. I also added about 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese.

I added asparagus and extra garlic with the mushrooms, because I am a garlic nut. I also used milk instead of water this was one of the best recipes. And oh so easy.

This recipe is delicious as is. Some suggested using chicken stock instead of the boiling water. I have tried both and definitely prefer it with the boiling water version. The chicken stock has an overpowering flavour. Great recipe!

Really easy and really good. Even kids who aren't sure about seafood enjoyed it. I used a little more garlic and reduced fat cream cheese, also milk instead of water. I think double the sauce with 12 ounces of pasta would be have been ideal. Thanks for the recipe, it is a keeper!

Wow! Simple and simply delicious. I had raw shrimp, so sauted them with the mushrooms. Taking a queue from others, used 6 oz of cream cheese, 1/4 cup butter and substituted milk for water. Make this dish - you won't be disappointed!
