I made this for my boyfriend last night and he LOVED it. I did make some changes. I added a full pound of raw shrimp that I cooked with the mushrooms. I also used Greek Seasoning on the shrimp and in the sauce to give it more flavor. When I put the mushrooms and shrimp into the sauce I also added a fresh diced tomato. Served it with some fresh bread and some white wine. I'll definitely make this again but will continue to modify the recipe until it is perfect.

Used 8 oz low fat cream cheese, added 1/4 cup white wine and 1/4 cup skim milk. Also added asparagus spears to the mushrooms. Make sure to salt and pepper to taste. Is bland without seasoning. Doubled the garlic. Used whole wheat linguine. Restaurant caliber pasta dish!

I made this tonight for the family, including my 3 year old lactose-intolerant Celiac son. Everyone raved about it! I used soy cream cheese, rice pasta, and rice milk as substitutes. Thanks to previous reviewers for suggestions about seasonings and reducing the amount of butter (I used oil instead). I served it with salad and (wheat-free) bread. A fabulous, filling, and satisfying meal. P.S. I found this recipe on the allrecipes spinner on my iPod Touch. What a find!!

I made this for guests and it received rave reviews. I am definitely happy that I made extras for left overs because I craved it the next morning and had some for breakfast!! Great recipe, and I didn't change anything.

Good recipe, but needs salt and lots of black pepper. I would also consider adding wilted spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and capers if I ever make it again.

This was pretty good. The sauce started to scare me because the cream cheese was not looking pretty until I added pasta water. I used the fat free cream cheese and it still turned out great. I added marsala wine, but I tasted the sauce before and after the wine and it was good both ways.

This was pretty good but it needs something.... Of course I was out of mushrooms and that would have helped. Next time I make this, I think I am going to try one of the suggested changes.

Very yummy & very rich. I added a little mike to it until I got the consistency I wanted, and I used white wine instead of the boiling water. I hinestly think the wine gave it most of the delicious flavour!

Very good! I used fresh mushroom and they tasted a bit bland. I think frozen mushrooms would have done just as well if not better. Kept good for the next day's lunch.

This made a very good dinner. Like most cooks, I used the recipe as a starting point and adjusted to my ingredients on hand. I used boursin instead of cream cheese, but do not think it would have changed my rating. Thanks.

This recipe is great and I make it all the time! Instead of water, I use 2/3 cup half & half. Also, sometimes I will add 1/2 lb imitation crab meat.

This was great!!! I love cream sauces and this was SO EASY!!! Taking other reviewers' advice, I used 8oz of cream cheese and a mixture of white wine and pasta water to thin the sauce (no butter), and added garlic salt and fresh ground pepper. My boyfriend LOVED it (altho I admittedly added too much pasta and it became a little dry but that was my fault) and this is my new favorite pasta recipe!!!!
