Shrimp And Onion Stew

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 onions, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound medium shrimp - peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/3 cup water

Directions

  1. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add onions; cook and stir until soft. Stir in garlic, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes
  2. Add shrimps; cook just until shrimp turn pink and begin to curl.
  3. Mix in turmeric, salt, and pepper. Mix in tomato paste and water. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 hour. Add more water if necessary to prevent sticking. Serve.
