We ate this just as a roast and it was very good, very tender.

Everyone really enjoyed these sandwiched. It was a bit weet for my taste, so next time I would use spicy mustard and add more hot pepper sauce, maybe less ketchup. It was even better the second day though when the flavors had blended even more. I didn't use the sauce. It was a bit thin and pretty greasy, so I just tossed it. The meat was moist enough without it and it was still delicious. I used onion rolls instead of plain, which added a nice touch. I will definitely make this again for parties. So easy!

this is one of My family's favorites. This recipe is fantastic. i accidentally have left out ingredients, like the lemon juice, or had to change ingredients (dijon mustard instead of regular, Wine vinegar instead of cider) it doesn't matter it still taste great.

Orig review Aug 26, 09: Pretty good for steak sandwiches . . . steak isn't really for me, as I'm not a red meat kind of girl. Bf, on the other hand, loves it. He made a bunch of steak and jerky before going to Vegas, so I had to think of something to make with the cooked steak. Since I started with already cooked steak, I just simmered shredded steak and the rest of the ingredients on the stove for about 1 1/2 hours today. I left out the brown sugar but otherwise kept the rest of what was in the recipe. I thought the sauce was too thin, so I added some brown gravy mix to thicken it up. I tried a sandwich then froze the rest for when bf gets back, and I'll update my review then to see what he thinks. Thanks for the recipe! update: bf liked this but wasn't a fan of the vinegar in the sauce, so I'd have to eliminate or use less if I make it again. Thanks for the recipe.

The meat was very tender. I didn't care for the sauce too much. We liked it better with A1. I won't be making this again.

This recipe is full of tangy flavor and delicousness! I used 5lbs of meat and still had more than enough sauce and flavor. I slow cooked the meat overnight; it was extremely tender and shredded perfectly. A definite keeper of a recipe. Thanks!
