I followed this recipe as-is and thought the sauce was missing some bite. So I added several more spashes of cider vinegar, 1-2 tsp of cayenne, 1-2 tsp of garlic powder, a bit more salt & about a tsp of seasoned pepper. That was enough to perk it up. Great to serve to a housefull on game day!

I made this recipe following the exact instructions, and it was good. Then I shortened it up to make it even easier, and it was actually better! I put the stew meat into my crock pot, dumped in a cup and a half of store bought BBQ sauce, and cooked on high for 5 hours. I scooped the meat out, shredded it, and added a slurry to my bbq sauce to thicken it. then I added the BBQ to the meat, and it turned out PERFECT! Hope this helps.

Decent flavor, though I prefer a barbeque beef or sloppy joe taste. 4 stars since my husband loved it. Incredibly easy to make.

I used soy sauce and some diced tomatoes instead instead of ground mustard and cider vinegar. I don't red meat, but I'm sure this will get good reviews from the boyfriend.

Family really enjoyed this. So much easier to use the stew meat. It shredded perfectly and the sauce was tasty and coated the meat nicely. Served on soft potato rolls with cole slaw. Plenty of leftovers and I bet they can be frozen for another quick meal. Thanks for a great dinner!

I skipped the green peppers (hate them cooked), and it was great!

Added 2 hot chopped peppers with the green peppers and onions. Doubled the sauce, and used extra chili powder (and a variety of chili powders - some regular, some ancho). LOVED this recipe. The sauce flavor was sooooooo good. Thanks so much for sharing. This is going to be come a favorite.
