This is a really good recipe but I made some mistakes that were easily fixable. I accidently added the BBQ sauce to the slow cooker in the beginning. This was a problem because I couldnt remove some of the juices because i would get rid of the BBQ sauce. I cooked it all for 8 hours i the slow cooker and noticed it was a bit too soupy so I added about a Tablespoon of cornstarch (after taking the meat out) to thicken it up. I also added about 1.5 heaping tablespoons of brown sugar. It was really great! Thanks!

I did this recipe with elk, which I hate. It was the only meat I had in the freezer, and this recipe was still delicious! Definitely something I will be making again. I was short on time so I cooked the meat on high for three hours, and it didn't dry out the meat. Great and easy recipe.

This is a great recipe. As much as I use my crockpot, I must admit, I would never have gone with this little of liquid. But I did and it worked nicely. I did need to add a can of beef broth about 4 hours in as the liquid was nearly gone. I also used quite a bit more bbq sauce. Finally, used a cheaper roast and it worked out fine. Served on fresh rolls with mild cheddar slices. Yummmmm.

This is AWESOME! I added a large onion, extra seasoning and homemade bbq sauce with some of the juice from the beef. My husband loves this its like the chop bbq pork but with beef. I love both. I've been making this for years. Great recipe and easy.

I have been making something just like this for years. The one here is a great start but I have found adding something a little odd makes all the difference! Add a 1/2 cup of apricot or raspberry jam or preserves for each 4lbs of meat. Also If making a spread for the meat when on the bread. Take 1 8oz package cream cheese warm in sauce pan and add some raspberry chipotle sauce into it. Spread onto the bread and place on the meat on top. I have served this on rolls and on English muffins. So good!

Turned out great! I used a pot roast, and I used steak spice too in the rub. Added a bit of bbq sauce in the slow cooker too. Loved it.
