Overall, It's delicious and easy to throw together. I only made a couple of changes adding a 1/4 tsp of all spice to the ground beef and used tomato paste instead of ketchup. Yum! Yum! Family enjoyed it

Great recipe! I used leftover mashed potatoes, so the prep time was cut down. Served with biscuits. The whole family loved it and went back for seconds!

This was so good! I wanted a quick meal so I cheated and used store-made mashed potatoes. I also used a bag of frozen mixed veggies instead of the carrot mash, although if I have more time I will try that way. I added brown gravy mix, Worcestershire sauce and a little more water. I also forgot to get cheese but it was really good without it. I top everything (I mean everything) with Tony Chachere's Cajun salt. It was really fast, easy and delicious. Also pretty cheap to make.

Love it - just emailed recipe to grown son who also loves it!! Only substitution is that I will prepare frozen peas/carrots in place of the mashed carrots. Not better, just quicker.

Great recipe. I used frozen carrots & peas instead of the 5 carrots and added a little Worchester sauce to the beef. I also cooked and mashed a yam and added it to the mashed potato. Mashed rutabaga, sweet potato or parsnips also make great additions to the topping (and give you an easy way to use up leftovers).

I was looking for a recipe to use up left over mashed potatoes and this one fit the bill perfectly as I had all of the ingredients in the fridge! I made some changes based on previous comments including browning ground beef with onion and garlic and chopped celery and then simmering with a mixture of 1/4 cup worstershire, 3/4 cup beef broth and 2 T flour. I layered the beef mixture a bag of frozen veggies (carrots, peas, green beans, carrots and lima beans) and the cold mashed potates. It cooked a little bit longer than 20 minutes (maybe because the veggies were frozen and the potatoes cold) but it was worth the wait! Both my husband and 13 year old son loved it and had seconds, not much left over for my lunch!! Yum a great recipe.

Yummy! Really good. Made a few changes. Added peas and corn along with carrotts and more seasonings. Also added 3 tablespoons and milk to my potatoes.

Me and the wife loved it. We made a few changes, personal tastes. We used canned veggies (can of peas and carrots and a can of corn), a package of gravy mix, and more cheese. The potatoes we added some cream cheese to them to liven them up. But i feel that even without those changes it still is a great dish. Been told i have to make it again.

It was ok. Not sure why but maybe just a bit bland.
