Very good! I layered it in a trifle dish but found it was really difficult for my guests to dig all the way to the bottom. It sure was pretty though! But best to use a shallow dish for serving.

Wonderful dip! DRAIN the juice from the salsa or it will get watered down. I did not use lettuce. Everyone loved it!

I've been using this recipe for the past 2 years and I loooove it! The first time I made it for four of my guy friends, they couldn't stop eating it and before the night was over the platter was clean. I always make sure to use a bit smaller of a pan so that the bean/taco and cream cheese/sour cream ratio is balanced.

It is a great one. However I made a few modifications. I use chunky stile salsa on top of the beans. Then I made some guacamole which I put a bit of sour cream just for a bit of consistency. Let it rest for a few hours on the refrigerator and magic.. it was sooo soo good I am making this may favorite..

I made this last night for a party and it was a big hit. I gave it 4 stars because, as written, it would have been too mild for the crowd I run with. Here are the modifications I made. After reading that this dish can come out runny, I cut back on the salsa to about 3/4 of what was called for. Also, I used roma tomatoes- I cut out the seeds and only used the flesh. For the sour cream and cream cheese mix, I added cayene pepper and a splash of lemon juice for a little extra zip. I also used diced fresh jalepenos as we Texans like the heat! I too omitted the letuce for fear that if it were sitting out for too long, it would wilt. I will definately be making this again!

Mine was really runny. I made some modifications, as I think everyone will bc this is a basic recipe. One of the best parts was the cream cheese sour cream mixture, I highly recommend doing that step! I also used some Hormel CHili with no beans, which was pretty good too.

I made this for a get together last weekend and everyone liked it. I took the suggestion of others and mixed the taco seasoning, cream cheese and sour cream together. I also took the suggestion of others and mixed some diced jalapeno peppers (from the jar) into the refried beans. I decided not to use the bell pepper as I thought it would over power the dish. I also didn't use the lettuce because many said it wilted fast. Overall, I thought this was a good recipe. However, I will make a few modifications next time ... based on my own taste buds. I would add a little seasoning salt to the sour cream mixture or perhaps sprinkle a few drops on each layer. The flavors tasted good together but I felt it could have definitely used more seasoning and spice. I didn't care for the salsa as it kind of made the dish runny.

This is outstanding! The best 7 layer dip I've ever made. The cream cheese/sour cream mixture is so good! I made it for a little ladies-get-together and there were only 8 of us here and we polished off the whole thing!

Best 7-layer dip! Next time I will add some extra beans on the bottom. (I had a pan 8x11 inch and the beans barely spread across the whole bottom.) I did add guacamole instead of lettuce and green peppers. It turned out great!

I love this recipe, but the first time I made it my salsa was too watery and soon the whole thing was swimming. Now I use about half the salsa in a thin layer, then literally lay a paper towel over the salsa layer to gently blot the excess moisture before adding the veggies and cheese. Now it turns out perfectly.

WOW truly the best seven layer dip and so easy to make. The fresh veggies really make a difference. I took it to a football party last weekend and our friends loved it. I am making it again for another party this weekend.
