This dip was a hit! The only modifications I made were mixing part of the taco seasoning into the cream cheese/sour cream layer, and omitting the green peppers (don't like them) & lettuce (wilting concerns). Will definitely make again!

Good recipes. Used leftovers to make taco salad by adding lentils from the tasty lentil tacos recipe listed on this site. I could do without the cream cheese but I will make this again.

I made this recipe exactly as it was, and it was a HIT. The lettuce DID wilt the next day when we finished the leftovers, but I don't think leftovers are going to be something we'll have to worry about. DEFINITELY will make this again!

This was absolutely marvelous. I did change a couple things, instead of canned refried beans, I made them myself. I also reduced the cream cheese and sour cream mixture by half and it was perfect! I prepared this for dinner. We had shredded beef burritos with the dip and chips. Boy was this a hit!!! Thank you much!!

this was a pretty good dip. it was easier than i thought. I used whipped ceam cheese because it was easier to mix in and when i put it in the fridge after i made it until the party the cream cheese didn't re-harden. i would cut the taco seasoning mix in half for my taste it was too salty. Make those two changes and it's a hit.

This dish is so yummy. Nobody could keep out of it. Definately making again. Only thing I left out was the green pepper, since it just didn't sound right for this dip.

This is absolutely fabulous. I made it as described, aside from using low fat cream cheese and low fat sour cream. I also skipped the green peppers because they are not my favourite. I had been concerned that the lettuce would get soggy but based on some of the positive comments about the lettuce, I kept it in. I'm glad I did! It was yummy and made it a bit different. It makes a huge amount and I did have the thought that since I had leftovers, maybe I shouldn't have put the lettuce in it, as now it would be soggy and the leftovers might go to waste. I opened it up this afternoon (the party was yesterday) to see if I could pick out the lettuce and still enjoy the dip. To my surprise the lettuce is STILL crispy, not in the slightest bit soggy. I had made a point to spin it in the salad spinner first before putting it on the dip though I thought surely it would absorb the moisture from the salsa. it didn't, the dip is great even as leftovers, had some for lunch without chips - just on a fork. Yum!

Great base recipe!! I mix black beans with the refired beans and taco seasoning. I also mix a packet of ranch dressing mix in the sour cream and cream cheese. Any salsa seems to work fine. I top the salso with a can of corn. No lettuce and no bell pepper for me on this one, they don't seem to belong here. I replace the lettuce with chopped cilantro for a fresh taste and mix with the green onions. Top with cheese and your done!!

This was a definite winner with the crowd! I did some changes as others did. Here is my version; Recipe Alterations: Omitted: tomato, olives, lettuce, bell pepper 1). brown 1lb hamburger - mix in refried beans and half of the taco seasoning mix 2), add a layer of guacamole 3). used mango/pineapple salsa (really can use whatever flavor you want) 4). added a layer of mild chopped chilis (sm can) 5). instead of chopped tomato used a can of Rotel chopped tomatos and chilis 6). mixed the other half of the taco seasoning mix with the cream cheese and sour cream 7). used green onions as garnish on top of the cheese Order of layers starting with: burger/beans guacamole sour cream/cream cheese chilis salsa cheddar green onions

Well, this didn't blow my socks off, but it's still a very good recipe. I added in an easy guacamole and omitted the peppers from the recipe (personal preference). It turned out good, but the bean layer was a bit too salty for me. It was partly my mistake (I used 1.5 oz instead of just 1 oz of taco seasoning), but next time I make this, I'll only use 0.5 to 0.75oz of taco seasoning. One can of beans just can't stand up to that much taco seasoning, in my opinion.

THE BEST! I too left out the lettuce and replaced it with a mixed layer of guacamole and green onion. I also split the seasoning mix between the beans and cream combo and left out the green pepper too. I received RAVE reviews and it was gone within about 15 mins. I spread the layers on a large serving bowl/platter and it worked out perfectly! It was so easy to make!!!
