Just tried this and it was a HIT! The only problem I noticed was the recipe said to drizzle dressing on top of salad and mine was too thick to do anything but spoon and spread. Still was great!

Hubby loves this salad and asks for it - but it makes so much that it's only made when we're having ALOT of people over. I make it the night before then toss it in a giant bowl for the big day.

This was an excellent salad! It lasted for several days, which made it a great candidate to pack quickly into lunches for several days. The dressing was thick - no way to drizzle, but it was fine on top. I did use way less onions than required and it worked out well.

This was a really good version of the basic seven layer salad. I received compliments on it from family members that have been making it for years. Be sure to use Hellman's Real (full fat) mayonnaise. It does make a difference! I also add slice of hard-boiled eggs.

I thought the dressing could have used a little pizzaz, next time would maybe add something to spice it up.

This salad was a definite hit. I used the 1 c. mayonnaise, 1 c. sour cream with parmesan cheese and sugar and it made it a perfect topping.

I gave it a medium review because I never made this before, had no bacon, and no one ate it besides me. I guess bacon is what makes this salad good.

this was good. it went over well for thanksgiving. the only thing i would recommend is to be sparing with the red onion. i used an entire smallish onion and it really overpowered the salad. i would make this again, but i would cut down the amount of red onion.

I really liked this salad. The dressing was different in a good way, not an overpowering flavor. My ranch-loving husband even liked it. I will make this again.

I was impressed by the rating and so we had this as our Thanksgiving salad. It was a generous "ok". WAY too many onions (and I like onions). The bacon gave it great flavor which sort of saved it. I won't be making it again.

BIG hints! *Make sure you put it together the night before with the peas frozen still *Busy cook? It is much faster and easier to use pre-done bacon bits, pre-grated cheese and even preshredded lettuce and veggies of your choice! Red bell peppers are very pretty! This salad is a big winner. My Aunt Julie started making this 20 years ago. We have never used the onions, cauliflower, parm cheese or water chesnuts, but it is a very versatile recipe. It is a tradition in our family! We do it in an english Trifle bowl and it is so pretty!

Really liked this a lot but how can you not? It has BACON in it! I too did half mayo/half sour cream but jut mayo would have been good too. I think the next time I make it I won't use iceberg but will maybe used mixed greens. I took this to a preThanksgiving feast and it was a hit. Thanks!
