I made this dip yesterday for my son's fifth birthday and it was a hit! Every one loved it and finished one whole pan and half of the other (I adjusted the recipe to feed 30). I did put my own little twist on it by using Newman's Own Pineapple Salsa instead of regular salsa, I seasoned the refried beans with garlic salt and pepper for more flavor and added an extra amount (1/2 a package more of taco seasoning mix) to the sour cream and it was fantasic. Thank you for the recipe and I will save it and use it again.

Made this for the family over the weekend served it with tortilla chips. I put cheese on top of beans first and baked until hot and bubbly, then proceeded with rest of directions adding fresh baby spinach. Everyone loved it and couldn't wait for seconds.

LOVE this dip! It is always a big hit and never any left over! We like it spicy, so I use "Hot" Taco Seasoning and spice up the guacamole a bit. After initial review and several dips later we tried throwing the left overs on chicken fajitas and it was AWESOME!

This was awesome! I don't like avacados, so I left that out. I also blended cream cheese with the sour cream and taco seasoning. YUMMY!!!

My family loved this dip! I did add half the taco seasoning to the refried beans and the other half in the sour cream. I made Taco Seasoning I for this. I think though next time it could use a little more of the sour cream layer as it was very thin. I used pico de gallo instead of salsa and again on top instead of chopping tomatoes and green onions. I forgot to buy black olives, but they weren't missed. I did use 3 avocados instead of 2 because I wanted a litle more guacamole. I made this in a pyrex pie plate and it was just right. Excellent recipe. Even though this is called a "dip" we eat this stuff as a meal. Thanks for a great one!

I gave this five stars because the recipe was simple and easy to follow (which is important to a beginner cook such as myself). It is also the best seven layer dip I've ever had, blowing the store bought stuff out of the water. I made it for a BBQ over the weekend and my guests loved it. I will make this again for sure.

This was great, and so easy! I prefer to use sliced olives so folks who don't like them can pick them off easily. Instead of garlic salt, I used 1/2 tsp. plain salt (didn't think garlic flavor went.) I also omitted the pepper, since the taco seasoning has plenty of spice and flavor. I used light sour cream the first time I made this, and fat-free sour cream the second time -- both were just fine! Just a personal preference - I think 1 1/2 cups of cheese is plenty. It's also good if you add a layer of finely chopped lettuce when you add the green onions, just to have extra veggies (but then it becomes an 8-layer dip!). Thanks for the recipe!

I don't understand the rave reviews. My family didd not care for this dip. I took it to work and no one there would eat it either - and I work with all men! The taco seasoning in the sour cream ruined it, it was completely overpowering. The picante in the avocados wasn't right either. I will never make this again.
