Super yummy recipe. I got it from a friend, but its missing, so I came here. We add toffee chips and white chocolate chips, and pecans instead of walnuts. Always a hit!

This is a very easy recipe. Based on other reviews I read, I modified it slightly. I used 3/4 c. unsalted butter and 2 c. graham cracker crumbs, mixed them in a bowl then pressed them into my baking dish I had sprayed with Pam. Then I added the coconut (so it doesn't dry out or burn), walnuts, chips and then poured the condensed milk over everything. They came out great! Made 2 batches, one with chocolate and butterscotch chips and one with chocolate and peanut butter chips. Yum!!

This was an extremely easy and quick recipe. It is very rich, so have milk standing by! As another reviewer stated, it is best to combine the graham and melted butter in a bowl separately, rather than mix it in the pan directly. This one is definitely making it into my recipe box!

I loved how simple this recipe is, with a little one at home I don't always have all of the time in the world to bake. These were great, I took them to work and everyone raved about them! This recipe will for sure be included in my holiday baking!

Without non-stick spray or parchment, these may form a rock-hard layer in your pan as mine did. It's odd that something with this much butter would stick, but that is exactly what they did, thus they were useless to take to the event I had planned. Very frustrating, although the upside is that we got to eat them all ourselves, and as posted below they are quite good! So: either use non-stick spray or line the pan with parchment before baking.

These are fantastic!!! Very sweet but just the way I like it! Good for a potluck because you can cut them up pretty small since they are so sweet and SOOOOOO EASY! I don't always measure out the chips and coconut it doesn't hurt to use more if you love the sugar rush!!!

so easy and a real crowd pleaser. 7 layer bars are one of those desserts that is 'take-me-back' comfort food. i used white chips and butterscotch chips for a twist on this bar cookie, which turned out to be a real success. half the time you will have a majority of the ingredients already in your pantry. if you are looking to make this recipe a bit less rich, i recommend using less condensed milk and using white chips vs. semi sweet ALSO if you want another unconventional spin on this recipe, instead of crushing graham crackers, try crushed teddy graham cookies in honey or chocolate! yum!

I thought these were really yummy. I followed other reviewers suggestions and mixed butter with graham cracker crumbs and pressed into the bottom of the pan. It just seems like it would stay together better that way. I used a mixture of semi-sweet, white and peanut butter chips, but I used exactly the total amount of chips called for in the recipe. I also added the milk to the top instead of before the coconut. I found them to be sweet, but definitely not too sweet. Will be making again soon.

This recipe was great! My mom makes these around the holidays but uses a store bought package that has all the ingredients. I was unable to find it so I tried this and it was great! On the first try I mixed the graham cracker and butter and the crust came out fine. I did, however, not use the recommended amount of chips (I maybe left out a 1/4 cup for each) as it looked like too much before I cooked it. Good thing b/c it is very sweet and it would've been too sweet. Great recipe, just adjust to taste!

I grew up with this recipe but always put the condensed milk on top of everything. I lost mine so I used this one. I agree with other reviews that the condensed milk needs to be added to the graham cracker mix and again on top. I also added chopped almonds. Next time, I'll pre mix the crackers with butter, also add more butter, and put more milk in the middle of the layers as well as on top. I like the toasted coconut, but I think the milk needs to go on top. I might add a little coconut after the milk just to give it the toasted look and taste. My sister and I used to freeze this bars to take on trips. They're so good....yum.

Absolutely fantastic recipe! I used left over pulverized Teddy Grahams that I had leftover ,because they had gone stale, as the crust and used crushed pecans for the nuts because that was what I had on hand.

My mom taught me how to make these and i use the storebought graham crumbs and mix it in a bowl with the butter, melted. i then press it into the pan. i then put the chips on then coconut and then nuts then condensed milk but the cocnut doesnt toast but the nuts do wich makes them very nutty and good. So good!

these are awesome! I have made them on a few occasions and everyone loves them. I used a lot of feedback from other people like melting the butter & combining the crumbs together first...and when using a 13X9 pan I usually double that portion to completely cover the pan well. And then drizzling the condensed milk on almost every layer. To get a more crispy top I add a little more coconut after the condensed milk.

I substituted peanut butter chips for the butterscotch chips and used 2c of graham cracker crust like other reviewers suggested. They turned out well and everyone seemed to enjoy them. A little too sweet for my tastes!

Delicious!!!! I made them for a get together, and was worried that I wouldn't get any. Everyone loved them, and there sure weren't very many left!!! Putting foil in the pan makes them easy to cut and get out of the pan without them breaking.

A crowd pleaser, for sure. I used 2/3 cup each of semi-sweet chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. I put the coconut on and then poured on the sweetened condensed milk on top. The sweetened condensed milk was made from scratch using 1/2 cup boiling water, 1 cup nonfat dry milk, 3 tablespoons melted butter, 2/3 cup sugar, and a few drops of vanilla.

Use parchment paper to line the 9X13 pan and spray the paper with a bit of non stick spray. After they've cooled a bit I lift the entire batch out of the pan to cut. It's easier to get a more uniform size and absolutely no sticking!
