My husband (a vegtable snob) raved about this dish. I started w/ 1/2 box of sliced plain old white mushrooms sauted in the oil until really wilted and slightly browned before adding the sesame seeds. I toasted them in the pan along w/ the mshrooms & oil and then followed the orig. receipe. I also used frozen green beans and they worked just great. Thanks for another good idea for "what vegtable to fix tonight?"

A little more work than steaming, much better results.

These are very good. My girlfriend likes them even better than my garlic green beans I make. I also didn't add any garlic to the recipe as it would hide the toasty flavor of the sesame seeds too much.

It was okay, but WAY too salty. I don't know if my chicken broth had high sodium, but it would have been better without any added salt.

Delicious! I didn't change anything on the recipe. The sesame seeds gave a really nice flavor on this dish.

Very delicate sesame flavour with every bite. I felt it needed more taste so I added some soy sauce. I usually toast my sesame seeds in a dry pan untill light brown, not with any oil as written here in the recipe so I just did without any oil at all. Overall, this is an easy side dish to put together and gives the beans a fresh light taste. THX.

I made three pounds of these, and I didn't think they were ever going to get done. My friend's pan was almost too small to hold all of them! They were worth the effort.

Not bad. Depends on how you like your beans. Recipe calls for way more sesame seeds than is needed.
