i followed the recipe as written, but excluded the chocolate chips (didn't have any on hand) and it turned out wonderfully! i didn't have problems with the cream cheese sinking, possibly because i used a blender?
i baked them at 180C for 20 minutes, which was a bit too short (they fell later on). the first batch of 6 giant muffins didn't turn out as good as the second, when i included twice the amount of cream cheese mixture (i didn't have any cake or c.c. mixture leftover, by the way).
great taste, beautiful cupcake.. i think it would be even better tasting and looking if you doubled the amount of cream cheese, putting in two layers of c.c. and three of chocolate.
