"Beef tenderloin is naturally lean and mild-flavored, so it's great paired with the intense flavors of sweet caramelized onions and salty Gorgonzola cheese."

canola oil, divided
reduced-sodium beef broth
freshly ground black pepper
beef tenderloin (filet mignon) or sirloin steak, 1 to 1 1/4-inch thick, trimmed and cut into 4 steaks
crumbled Gorgonzola or blue cheese
Used my extra caramelized onions on a salad the next day, delicious!
Will make this again. The steak had great flavor. I did not have blue cheese (because I do not care for it) but used feta instead. It was great. The onions were very tasty and I made enough to put on burgers.
I was looking for a recipe for caramelized onions to put on burgers, and this looked good, so I tried it. I made ONLY the onions, not the steak part.
The onions were quick, easy, and delicious. The leftovers are still wonderful warmed up the next day. And these onions make for some killer burgers.
I followed the recipe exactly, no changes.
This recipe was super easy and looked like something coming out of a restaurant! My husband was very impressed with my caramelized onions too!
