These are simple, easy tasty cookies. I was going to top them with some melted chocolate, or make some with sugar on top as others have suggested... but after the first batch came out of the oven, I liked them as is! I did add some vanila and salt as other suggested. Next time, I might make them smaller and/or thinner since I like them extra well done. Thanks for this great one!

Wonderful and perfect. I added 2 tsp vanilla amd spread the whole dough out with my hands onto a cookie sheet, then I pooked with a fork the entire sheet. Baked for 22 min and they were perfect. As soon as they came out or the oven I cut squares with a knife. I was soooooo easy and I love how you didnt need any tools of much ingredients. Oh and I also sprinkle the dough with regular sugar before baking so that it would look shimmery and pritty. Its tasted like heaven.

I decided to try these as they were in the Christmas Cookie Countdown. I used in my Swedish Spritz maker and I thought they turned out great. I used the disc which makes lined bars and baked as long strips. I sprinkled with holiday sparkled sugar and baked. As soon as I removed them from the oven, I cut into small rectangles and served with the Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball on this website (which was also yummy). I would make these again as I think they had a nice flavor, texture. Gosh, they also couldn't have been simpler to make! Thanks for this great recipe!

Very easy recipe. Instead of strips I made little balls and flattened them with a glass cup that I had dipped in sugar. It flattened the ball and added just the right amount of sugar.

These shortbread cookies are very good, they remind me of the cookies my friend sends me from France. They were also easy to make.....

I'm not sure if shortbread could get any better. I did wonder how the shortbread would taste with a little vanilla or almond extract and a light lemon icing...I guess I will try that next time?

This was exactly what I was looking for... I made teaspoon sized cookies to serve with tea... delicious! And do be warned... though simple, they are addictive.

I halved the recipe and only used 2 cup flour. Loved that you only need three ingredients that are always in my pantry. Goes great with coffee and my 9 year old dunked them in milk.

I dont know if true scottish shortbread has brown sugar or not?personaly these do taste like the real thing, although i perfer icing sugar it gives more of a light taste and melts in your mouth more. Well thats my perferred taste.so I think these are a heavier cookie, but there still pretty good. Hope this helps...:-)

Very good recipe; I think baking times or amt. of butter may be off...my bars spread like wild fire! came out distorted and mishapen. I am going to try again tomorrow, trial and error I guess!
