This is awesome! I love the sauce more than any I have tried! I have made this a few times and everyone loves it. I use spare ribs. Now I do change one thing. I remove the "skin" on the bone side of the ribs. I then sprinkle a good rub all over the ribs generously. After that I put brown sugar on them and let it melt. Then I put them in the fridge overnight. Lastly I cook mine in pans covered in foil with a mixture of vinagar, water and liquid smoke till they are ready for the grill to be seared. I sauce on the side. These are awesome! Thanks for getiing me started on ribs and sauce making Scott

Soooooo Goooood! I used cayenne pepper powder, and was apprehensive about it turning out too hot to eat, but these were wonderful! We all loved this sauce. I used hickory smoke, Jack Daniel's whiskey, and it blended so well you couldn't even taste it. I did add an extra dab of honey. Fantastic ribs! We left them in the foil and grilled them without turning as they were way too tender. We'll have these again!

Absolutely loved it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I have had one better and this really fancy restaurant. Now I have to say this is the best homemade one I have ever had, the only thing is that for others to try putting this Wild turkey American Honey Whiskey, oh that is the best marinade with it.

First time cooking ribs and I definetely picked the right recipe. Meat just fell off the bone! Sauce was tasty as well. One hint however, be careful when handling ribs on the grill, they'll fall apart easily if you're not careful.

I love this recipe. Not only is the sauce good on the ribs, it's good on chicken and pork too. I have to admit that I did cheat a little and I did not grill the ribs. Instead, I placed them on the broiler pan and finished them under the broiler in my oven. Still fabulous! They should be award winning!

I have made these several times now. I had never made ribs before so was thrilled when my New Years Eve crowd went nuts for them. I baked them early in the day and refrigerated them in the foil tehn grilled them 15 minutes before guests arrived. What a wonderful recipe.

This is the perfect winter rib recipe!! I found it to be simple and as others have reviewed a very deliscious choice. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of cutting back to 1 cup of water on the sauce, as I like a thick BBQ sauce. I also added one more tsp. of whiskey for good measure. My sauce cooked for 1 1/2 hrs as suggested and thicked to perfection. I was very happy with the results and the flavor balance between sweet, sour and spicey was outstanding. Very tender ribs, we finished ours using charcoal on the Webber and it ROCKED!! Thanks for a great rib recipe.

my husband made this a couple of weeks ago and we just loved them. Made the recipe exactly as printed. Actually, frozen some of the cooked ribs and just made up the sauce later, heating them up on the bbq, they were just as good as the first time.

These ribs were fantastic, I have been looking for perfect BBQ sauce for my ribs and now I have found it. The only thing I did different was to use 1/8 cup whiskey and 1/2 cup red wine, I am not sure how it tastes the other way, but EVERYONE here loved them and devoured them quickly.

THESE WERE AMAZING!!!! I goofed up.. I didn't have any whisky so I just omitted that, I found out at the last min that I didn't have any tomato paste so I used ketchup instead.. since ketchup is not as thick as tomato paste I used less water, 1 cup. I also used a real onion, 2 garlic cloves & chili powder instead of chile pepper since I always have that on hand. Other than that everything else I did exactly to the recipe. I also had to cook the sauce alittle longer since it started out watery but I'm telling you it turned out PERFECT! I was surprised at how easy these were to make, the prep was not that hard or that long, than I just let everything cook for 2 hours while I cleaned. When ready I gave everything to hubby to grill. He just had to grill the ribs for about 10 mins, he used half the sauce for coating the ribs while grilling & when they were done cooking he used the rest of the sauce to put on the ribs so they are very sticky & dripping w/ sauce. This was the first time I've ever made ribs and they were INCREDIBLE! ****UPDATE**** I make this every few weeks now. I use boneless pork ribs b/c you get more meat, I double the recipe for extra sauce & I did try to make it exactly how it's written & it's also incredible that way but since I don't normally have whisky or tomato paste I stick to the way I made it the first time. I show off & make this for company & so far EVERYONE is Blown away by these ribs. I've given out this recipe a number of times! Thanks Scott!

Super, fall-off-the-bone good. I accidentally used chili powder instead of the chili pepper before baking (misread the recipe), but they were excellent regardless. I'll probably make them exactly the same way next time. Thanks!!
