I followed the recipe to the letter, but these cookies tasted a bit "soda-y" and "floury". I was told later that perhaps I should have substituted the baking soda for baking powder, but didn't want to deviate from the recipe. Also, the cookies were very much like Pecan Sandies, the taste, texture, and level of sweetness. Perhaps this recipe should be renamed accordingly.
