really good and soooo easy to make I didn't change a thing, except the cooking time. I baked at 400 and cut it down to only needing to bake for an hour in a half. I didn't have enough time to cook it for 2 hrs so that is why i changed the time. They came out so delicious and tender. I served this as a side to slow cooked citrus turky( also on this site) and they complemented each other very well. Thanks for the fab recipe

I'm looking forward to tasting this. I just put it in the oven. The sauce was delicious. If you r an experienced cook, start the sauce first. I added cheddar cheese and cooked chopped bacon to the layers. I know it will be scrumptious. Can't wait! Thx for the great recipe.

Wow, love this recipe. 1. Basic ingredients I always have on hand. 2. So easy to make. 3. Tasty. 4. Most importantly, family friendly. Not only did my 4 and 2 yr olds love it but the adults did too. This recipe would be great the way it is but I wanted to make it a meal instead of a side so I did the following. Thin layer of potato, then layer of grated onion, carrots, and celery. Another layer of potato, then ham and cheese. One more thin layer potato, then sliced mushrooms. Poured sauce on then paprika. Thank you for this great recipe. We will be making this a lot!

These scalloped potatoes and onions are FABULOUS!!!!! I made them last night for supper, and it was so easy, the only thing I did different was added shredded cheddar cheese (mild) and placed pork chops on top after browning the chops. What a fantastic dish! My husband and son loved them and requested them often! Will keep this recipe handy!! Thanks!

AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Such a deliciously, cheesy, creamy, comforting recipe. I used red potatoes b/c they're starchier and soft and creamy when cooked. Didn't have mayo, used a pkg. cheddar/jack cheese, and used beef bouillon-practically what I had on hand. Otherwise, followed the recipe. AMAZING!!!!

We had a dinner party for 22 last night and I wanted a potato dish that would hold and could be prepared early. These potatoes were WONDERFUL! Like many other reviews, they were tender and creamy as though they had cream or cheese in the ingredients. I quadrupled the recipe and I am very happy we have one pan left for leftovers! I highly recommend making them as written...you will not be disappointed!

I was so hungry for scalloped potatoes and had never made them myself - but this recipe was so easy and delicious! I used sour cream since I was out of mayo, and added parmesan cheese and fresh parsley to the top for the last few minutes in the oven. Great recipe!

These were very good!! I made these for company and every body loved them. I tried them the second time but didnt have chicken broth or mayo, so I used beef broth and sour cream....excellent substitutions.

Rating this 4 stars because if you follow the recipe (even if you have to change a couple things) it still turns out great (but not amazing). I had to use half chicken and half vegetable stock because i ran out of chicken. I also had to use miracle whip instead of mayonnaise. Still came out great and the sauce was so simple and good. My only objection to it was that it was pretty bland. It needs a spice to give it some character. Thanks for the great recipe!

Excellent! Because I love garlic, I thinly sliced 3 garlic cloves and sprinkled them between layers. Also, I grated about 1/2 cup fresh parmesan and sprinkled between layers, and a bit on top for an extra zip. Wonderful.

I cooked the potatoes in the chicken broth for 5 minutes to cut down on baking time. I did not thicken them but just added lightly sauted onion and reduced fat mayo. The best potatoe soup my family has ever had.

I know this is a side dish, but I read a few reviewers that said they added ham. So I did the very same, then omitted the salt. OMG!! The result was SPECTACULAR!! Because I was afraid the juice from the ham would make this too soggy, I only added 1 1/2 cups chicken broth instead. Otherwise, I did exactly as directed. This is a definite meal when you add the ham. I cut mine up in large chunks, as opposed to little cubes. I did two layers...potatoes, onion, ham, potatoes, onion, ham...then more potatoes and a few onions sprinkeld on top. Served this with fresh steamed asparagus and warm, buttery sour dough dinner rolls. No leftovers!! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!
