I was extremely skeptical when making this recipe because my family expects scalloped potatoes to be served on Easter. Wow, what a pleasant surprise. They were wonderful and alot more healthy. This is definitely a keeper. I still can't believe that no cream product was included to make this wonderful dish.

I love that it doesnt use any cream. I have to watch sodium intake and limit my dairy. I used low sodium chicken stock, onions, added some tyme, garlic, a dash of red peppers and sage. It was great, the family didnt even notice that there was no milk in it. This will be my go too potato recipe.

This recipe was fantastic. I followed other viewers suggestions and threw in some thyme, rosemary and parmesean cheese to the mixture. I love parmesean so I added some on top as well. I don't care for mayo so I skipped that all together. This is a keeper!!!

This is a great recipe. Very tasty and easy to prepare. Used less salt due to the addition of a high sodium broth. Topped with small amount shredded cheddar cheese during last 15 minutes of cooking. Cooking time was less than expected.

I am giving this 5 Stars without having yet prepared it. Why? Well it is very similar to a recipe I once had from a Fireman and it was delicious. Also I enjoyed reading so many great reviews. QUESTION: Many wrote and said the dish was "Better" the next day and is was easy to reheat. Can or should this dish be prepared a day before serving? If so, can this large casserole be re-heated in a regular oven? Temp and time? Curious. I will be preparing this for Easter and am looking forward to serving it to my guests. Thanks.

This was really good. What I liked was you did'nt have to use the creamed soups like so many reciepes have. This is my standard reciepe now for scalloped potatoes.

To be honest, based on the reviews I read I was a little disappointed by these. They weren't bad by any means, but certainly no "wow" factor. I followed the recipe exactly, but I found I could actually taste a bit of the mayo "tang" and that sorta grossed me out. Don't think I will make these again, sorry.

Very good! I didn't think it would come out nearly as good as it did. Not greasy at all. Was great because I fixed it up around noon time and then put it in the oven a few hours later. Will surely make this again!

I really enjoyed this and will be making it again. It was easy to make and not too greasy. I added a little shredded Parmesan and swiss cheese for the last 15 min and let it cook uncovered. Mmmm!

I have to admit I'm a bit stunned by this recipe. No milk, no cream, no yucky creamed soups, no gobs of cheese, no bacon, so I was curious. I wanted scalloped potatoes without all the fat and grease, and this recipe fits the bill. My husband says these are the best scalloped potatoes he's ever had, and I know they are the best I've ever had. I followed the recipe exactly, and it was so so so good. I probably won't ever use another recipe; it's a great base recipe if you want to change things up later. I was tempted to change some things, but I decided to make it exactly as the recipe says so I know what the actual recipe tastes like. Now that I've done that, I might add garlic next time and use a little less onion and add a few herbs and maybe a little parmesan cheese, but as is, this is a great recipe. So creamy, no separation, soft potatoes, many fewer calories and much less fat, just delicious!

I added a dash of Worchester sauce and hot pepper sauce. I also melted about a cup of shredded cheddar cheese in the sauce. I guess that makes them Au Gratin? Tasty!

Fantastic! I made this for the Church pot luck and it was the first dish gone (and I had trippled the amount). This dish needs no alterations, it is great as is.

THis was yummy - I added a clove of garlic chopped up to the sauce and a handful of yellow cheese. the only reason I put it as a four, is because it was very greasy and I was a bit embarrassed to serve it. The grease was heavy and very noticeable.

Excellent recipe. The result is creamy and comforting; you won't believe there is no milk or cream. For my lactose intolerant husband, this will be a keeper. Thanks so much! Note- I made the recipe as is and it is great. For variety, I might add some garlic or shredded cheese but it really is excellent as is.
