This was a wonderful moist dish. Just the comfort food I was after. I didn't add any salt but found that it needed a bit after dishing it up. Added a sprinkle and it was perfect.

Very yummy and satisfying. I added evaporated milk to cover and baked longer.

Very good and easy to make. I did add some parsley, but other than that, changed nothing.

Awesome! I too wanted something that didn't involve cream soups and this had good reviews. I brought it to Easter brunch and everyone loved it. This will be the recipe I always use now.

Thanks! I love this recipe It's great for our family because my son is allergic to dairy, this way he can still have what the rest of the family is having! Another plus is that it's cheap to make, with the rising price of groceries, I'm sure anyone can appreciate that!

I had made this a while back and I am sorry, but it was not that great (not enough sauce) so I had to double it and the leftovers were awful.

These were quite good - came out a little greasy however. Overall a good tasting potato dish without cream or milk.

This was fantastic... thank you Dorothy! So creamy and tasty. The only change I made was adding a bit of parmesan into the sauce. I made such a big pan of this in hopes of enjoying half of it the next day, but it was all gone at dinnertime. YUM!

I sliced my potatoes real thin and they were cooked after 1.5 hrs, but the onions were still a bit undone. Very tasty and nice texture to the sauce but next time I will saute the onions first as another poster suggested.

This dish came out nice and creamy but I found the taste to be a little bland. The only change I made was 15 min. before it was done, I took the cover off and sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top and continued to cook for another 15. ***I tried this dish again and made several changes. I used red potatoes (peel on), made much more sauce, sauteed the onion, used part broth and part milk, and sprinkled bread crumbs on top for the last 15 minutes of baking. I liked it much better this time.

Followed the original recipe, but added ham leftover from Easter. It was delicious! I wouldn't change a thing. This will now be my "go to" recipe for scalloped potatoes. It's nice to have a recipe that doesn't use all the heavy creams and cheeses. Thank you! Delicious and simple.

I did it! Picked up on what others said about it being better on the second day, and cooked it the day before. Added some garlic poweder, parsley and topped with sharp cheddar (on only half the dish, left the rest for non-cheese lovers). Lots of liquid after the first cooking, but it was re-absorbed when it cooled down. It reheated perfectly. Everyone raved! Guess what we are having NEXT Easter!!!!!!
