My extremely picky teenager liked this a lot. I changed it a bit by adding 1/2 cup cottage cheese, less onion and chopped instead of sliced that, and used 1/2 cup buttermilk and 1/2 cup low fat milk. This gave it some tang and saved it from being bland. Very very easy and excellent.

Very Tasty! My changes: no onion or green pepper, add lots of cheddar cheese, season with hamburger mix and garlic salt.

This was easy and very good! I used Cheddar Cheese soup instead of cream of mushroom, ham instead of ground beef, and I added a little bit of shredded cheese and frozen peas in a couple of the layers. Everyone loved it, there were no leftovers. Would definitely make again.

I thought this was really quite good. I only did a couple of things different. I used healthy request cream of mushroom soup, and I used sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. I also added minced garlic to the hamburger while it was browning, and I also cooked the onion with the hamburger. All but one kid liked it, and I can't ever get her to eat anything. This will probably be replacing tator tot casserole on our dinner rotation. Thanks for submitting!

This one's a keeper. Comfort food at its finest! Easy to make with ingredients almost anyone would have one hand at any time. It is also a great recipe to "make your own". I think it would be good with a lot of different things added like sliced carrots, green beans, or maybe topped with cheese. I layered the bell pepper 1/2 and 1/2 with the potatoes, onions, and ground beef instead of pouring it with the soup mixture. I also sprinkled dried parsley over each layer. Fresh parsley would be even better. I also recommend allowing for about 10 min. for it to cool slightly before serving so the sauce can thicken just a bit.

This is a good basic dish, however I knew there was no way my potatoes would be cooked at 350 for an hour, so I preheated the oven to 400 instead. Also needed more milk than 1 cup. I added green beans peppers and mushrooms to have some veggies, next time I will omit the pepper and use corn instead. These ofcourse did not effect the overall taste. It needs some tweaking to be a spectacular dish but I will play around with it and get it just right. This is a good recipe though that can be adapted to anyones taste.

This was just OK in my opinion. Kind of bland and the potatoes were soggy.

This did not turn out good (to me) at all, but I think that I probably was the cause of that. My boyfriend loved it. The potatoes didn't cook all the way through, and we guessed it was because I left the skins on (was in a rush, figured that they are healthy, so left them on). I also added probably too much pepper. Next time, I will add cheese, and maybe use two cans of soup.

thanks for this recipe! it's a great go to recipe when you don't want to go to the store :) Here are the changes that I made: ground beef-season with pepper, onion powder; omit the onion; potatoes-used 2 potatoes, left the skin on, seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic & onion powder; added shredded cheese to each layer; mushroom soup mixture - added 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup sour cream, seasoned w/ black pepper.

This is one of those terrific recipes that one can flavour the way one likes and make it ones own ... I will make it again! I added 1/4 tsp hot pepper flakes, 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley and a teaspoon of granulated garlic to the sauce mix. I also sprinkled 1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar over top for the last 15 minutes. Excellent.

This was okay. I've used this basic recipe before with Ham, and prefer that flavour, I found the beef was just a bit boring. I added some garlic and some cheese to it. It's a good staple recipe if you're short of ingredients.

Everyone liked it!THIS IS A VERY GOOD RECIPE WHEN YOU ARE SHORT ON INGREDIENTS. You could use roasted garlic cream of mushroom too.
