I was only able to marinate the meat for 24 hours, I marinated it for 2 hours and it still came out great, juicy, and tender. Very Good.

Pretty good, but a little salty. Since the soy sauce provided plenty of salt, I will hold the salt next time.

Will try again and try to make it less sweet. Less balsamic vinegar as well.

I didn't have the liquid smoke but it was still great. It didn't taste like balsamic vinegar or soy... just a very good enhancement to the NY steaks.

i made this according to the recipe and found it MUCH to salty/vinegary for my family's taste. it seemed like it had good flavor but it was hidden behind the saltiness. seems like too much soy sauce and too much balsamic. (i was surprised though, as i am huge fans of both, but did find the combo too overwhelming this time)

I tried this out on some NY steaks. I didn't have the 1-2 days to marinate (I can't plan ahead like that) so I followed another reviewer and pricked the steaks all over with a fork and then marinated for 2 hours. The results were absolutely wonderful! DH made me swear that we would use this recipe as often as possible!

This was sooooo vinegary-you could NOT taste the garlic at all! That being said, the flavor wasn't bad, but wasn't great. It was just so vinegary that it gave you heartburn on the first bite! It did not tenderize the t-bones I marinated it in very well either, but maybe that's just the way t-bones are supposed to be?? We ended up cutting the meat off the bones & using it in wraps w/monterey jack, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers, onions, & sour cream. We really liked it that way, hence the 3 stars instead of 1 or 2.

I love this marinade, I use it everytime I grill rib-eye or t-bone steaks, you don't even need steak sauce! Marinate them a day or two & they will taste great! I don't add the smoke-flavor but it doesn't seem to matter.

This is an exceptional marinade. I only had time to marinade steak about 4 hours and it was still delicious. I do cut the vinegar by 1/2. I feel it would be too strong for my taste if I use the full amount. Also I cook my steak 2 minutes on 1 side and 3 minutes on the other side. Try this recipe...you will not be disappointed!!!!

The balsamic vinegar was a little too overpowering to my taste, but the people I served it to didn't complain. If I made it again, it would be with regular vinegar and only a few tablespoons of the balsamic vinegar.
