Savory Cheddar Bread
SUBMITTED BY:
Carol Funk
"I often serve this cheddar bread along with bowls of steaming homemade soup. It helps warm my cattle-raiser husband and our two sons on chilly evenings up here in Canada. Baking for family and neighbors keeps me busy. Just yesterday, when he was here to check the herd, our veterinarian paid me quite a compliment. I served him some cinnamon buns I'd made-and, after tasting them, he said I should open my own coffee shop!"

definitely quick and very good: do not esitate to add cheese, sharper if you like it, and try and eat it warm, when it's at its best!

Very tasty and fast! I added a teaspoon of garlic powder and was very liberal with the cheese. I was in a hurry so I divided up the dough into mini-loaf tins and sprinkled some additional cheese on top. When baked for about 22 minutes they came out great! As this is a quick bread the crumb texture is more like a biscuit than regular bread. It tastes grand fresh out of the oven with a little butter.

This was actually very good. It reminded me somewhat of the cheddar bay biscuits from Red Lobster. I halved the sugar because I'm not fond of sweet/savory bread. I also used Italian seasoning instead of oregano because that's what I had. My family really enjoyed it, so I'll be making it again. Thanks!

I'm a big fan of quick breads since yeast scares the heck outta me so I liked this recipe:o) Little bland but that's easily fixed by adding herbs of your choice & using a very sharp cheddar or even a different cheese such as pepper-jack. Good stuff:o)

I thought this was very tasty, and the texture was fabulous! It's true, it could have been a little more flavorful; I think next time I might increase the spices slightly, and maybe add some cayenne. I used garlic salt instead of onion salt because it's what I had. But it was super-easy, went great with soup, and even made for tasty breakfast toast this morning. All in all, a great recipe!

Not bad however I will double the spices in it to give a bit stronger flavor, also I think the addition of garlic salt would be a nice touch.
