This is a great recipe as-is. It is wonderful on top of pancakes and also ice cream!

I made this recipe exactly as it says and it was wonderful. My family loves "cinnamon apples" and I was disappointed with a baked apple recipe from this site. This is faster, easier and tastier. Thanks for sharing.

These were alright. They reminded me of an apple pie from Micky D's without the crust, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I might mess with the recipe, and see what happens.

Yum!! I tried it once leaving the peels on and it wasn't bad, but better without the peels. I made these twice when we had company and they loved it. So easy to make too.

I've made these at least 10 times and they are amazing. I follow the recipe exactly, and put them on top of waffles, pancakes, or pack them with my lunch. My family loves this recipe.

I followed the original recipe and served them on top of grilled pork chops for dinner (instead of apple sauce). Everyone really liked it. Next time, I use this recipe, I'll add a little more brown sugar and some vanilla and serve it with ice cream for dessert. Delicious!

These are DEVILISH! To make myself feel a bit less guilty, here's my changes: A bit less butter. 4 McIntosh Apples. A shot of vanilla. Skipped the water / cornstarch gig. 6 tbs brown sugar. And, oodles of Penzey's Apple Pie spice and nutmeg. Eight servings? That can't be right or I'm a bigger pig than I thought! Me & one other person took down all of them!

it should be noted that cooking/simmering sugar and butter makes it naturally thicken - no need for water and constarch. along with the natural sweetness of the fruit, the end result is better - less starchy.

These were amazing!! Followed the recipe exactly and did not have to make any sort of adjustments at all. I will be making this time and time again! I served it on ice cream, but will definitely be trying it out on some things others have suggested. Thanks!!

My son hates syrup on his pancakes so I decided to try this recipe as a topping for them. We both really liked it. I only had 1/4 cup brown sugar so I added about 1/8 cup of white also. I also did not have any cornstarch so I substituted 1 1/2 TBS. white flour.

These are great! To vary this a little but use the same ingredients with a package of crescent rolls... put the cut up apples into crescent rolls, bake about 1/2 the time on the package, then take them out and pour the sauce from this recipe on top and finish baking. Scrumptious!!

These were so tasty and easy to make (even for me, who is kitchen-challenged). I served them with pork chops and green beans, but I agree with the other reviews that they would be great as a breakfast topping as well. Only addition I made was to add about 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.

I have used this recipe a few times now.. And everyone here absolutely loves them!! They are very easy to make and they are a definite crowd pleaser!! I personally like sweeter apples so I use red delicious instead of tart and I've found that it takes a little more than 6-7 minutes to get them tender enough for us... But all in all a GREAT recipe!!
