Wonderful! Just like my mom made when I was a kid :) BUT I only had McIntosh apples and they were too soft but that didn't stop me from eating the whole batch!

YUM. YUM. :) We loved this! Found we didn't need much water and increased the cinnamon due to personal preference. Will make as a regular side-dish or served over ice cream for dessert. Thanks 356!

I followed the recipe exactly as written and it was PERFECT. It was easy to whip together. The house smelled GREAT for hours after cooking this. In autumn when local apples are plentiful this is a yummy warm treat. My husband describes it as apple pie without the crust. I would give this recipe 10 Stars if I could.

Perfect over waffles! My husband loved it. Would not change a thing about the recipe. I did it with a mixture of honeycrisp apples and pink ladies.

This is so simple to make, and so good. I make this for breakfast most weekend mornings, with eggs, sausage, and hashbrowns. My kids love them. When you make these minus the corn starch (but keep the water in), it makes a pretty good topping for ice cream - as long as you get it to the ice cream before is turns into candy in the pan. Thanks for sharing!

This was amazing!! I cut this recipe in half to serve three peple and everyone loved it. I accidently added more cinnamon than called for, but it was still great. We had it served over vanilla ice cream and it tasted like apple pie filling except better. This is definatly a keeper cant wait to make this again. One thing though, be careful not to slice the apples too thin... I made mine thicker than 1/4 inch

These were wonderful! Definetly add vanilla and use granny smith apples. We ate it just as is. Great if needs to be reheated, too, although we usually don't have any left to reheat!

These are fantastic and easy. Made them the night before my bbq at the last minute after reading reviews. Served with BBQ Pork for Sandwiches on slider rolls, Sweet Restaurant Slaw, Baked Beans Texas Ranger, (all from this site) as well as Mac n Cheese (not from this site but Allie's is delish if you are looking for a good one!). They were a huge hit and reheated in the microwave beautifully. Had the leftovers this morning with buckwheat pancakes. I recommend making them the night before. Also added a tsp of vanilla as I used very tart apples and felt like they needed some extra sweetness. Great all around recipe to keep in your line up.

Awesome! I used the full amount of sugar as my apples were very tart, but could probably cut the amount with equally delicious results. We couldn't get enough of these!

Really tasty way to use up apples! My friend who owned a restaurant and was a pastry chef used to make a stuffed croissant french toast that used a carmel sauce and apples that tasted kind of like this. If you cut open a croissant part way, spread a thin layer of cream cheese and add these apples inside before gently soaking them in a french toast custard and cooking as usual in a buttered pan, you'll have something truly amazing to serve for a fancy breakfast! I will be sure to use this recipe instead from now on!
