I followed the directions exactly, but after an hour of cooking, the rice was still hard. I cooked it for 2.5 hours, and still only some of the rice was soft, and the edges were burned. I will say that the flavors were wonderful, and I wish it had worked. I will try it again in the future, but I will cook the rice first and just heat everything together in the oven.

I have had this recipe for over 30 years and it is the best! It never fail to get compliments and requests for the recipe.
