Okay, I really really liked these and so did bf. I didn't have italian sausage so I subbed Chedderwurst and smoked sausage (I couldn't decide so decided to do both!). I added more sausage and tomato sauce than called for bc a few people mentioned the recipe didn't make much. Well, perhaps I overdid it bc there's still a lot left but I think I'll freeze half. We definitely liked this enough that I'm fine with leftovers (I'm not a big fan of them at all!). Bf asked me if I put in Red Hot and I'm wondering if that's from the chedderwurst being a bit spicy, but it's all good. I also added a bit more garlic than called for, and instead of tomato sauce itself I used a jar of garlic and olive oil spaghetti sauce. Worked great. Thanks for the recipe!

This was DELICIOUS and very tasty. My family loved this recipe. It is similar to the Slow Cooker Italian Sausage Sub recipe found on this site. The slow cooker really allowed the flavors to blend well. I did make some minor modifications: I added red bell pepper, diced garlic, and season salt. I also used 2tbsp of flour to thicken up the sauce. We will definitely be making this again.

This was very good. My hubby loved it. I did not brown the sausage before putting into the crock pot. I also added about 1/2 bottle of beer, some garlic powder, and italian spices. This recipe barely made 4 sandwiches, so next time I will use more sausage and another green pepper.

I made this for 4 but still used a whole pepper and a whole onion. I also added mushrooms. I used hickory smoked sausage which I did not brown beforehand. The slowcooker was on HIGH for 4 1/2 hours. My husband was home and noticed it was burning so he added water (although I used a 15 oz can of tomato sauce. The final result was waterdowned so I used a slotted spoon to put it on hoagie rolls. It still tasted very good and I'd make again but watch if the sauce gets low.

Tastes just like my grandma's recipe. I try to follow recipes to a "t" but I used hot Italian sausage and added some Texas Pete for that extra kick in the pants.

I don't personally like sausage and peppers but my husband wanted them for his poker party. He thought this recipe was fantastic!! I did add a little more more peppers and onions and another small can of tomato sauce. All the guys at the party loved it. I also served it with some mozzarella cheese to sprinkle on top.

These were all right. I wouldn't mind having them again, but my boyfriend was less than impressed. Cheese really helps them.

Add italian seasoning before cooking. Sprinkle with moz cheese, place in rolls, and broil until cheese melts right before serving. Very easy to prepare - 10 min. in the morning.

I made this to have at half time during the football game. It was so easy to put together and everyone loved it!! I melted provolone cheese on fresh rolls and then served the sandwiches... This is a definite hit!

Had this for dinner last night... Yummy! Followed the recipe exactly but also added a couple of hot hungarian peppers in with the green peppers. I melted some mozzarella cheese over the subs in the broiler before serving. Really delicious and simple too.
