When I read the recipe, it seemed like it had great potential. After eating it, however, I was disappointed to find that it was bland and watery. Even worse, the leftovers smell awful! I was not impressed.

Had extra sausage on hand, half sweet & half hot, about a lb but next time will use more. Easy to make and the only changes I made was I used beef broth rather than chicken, used diced tomatoes with garlic, onion & oregano and added a pinch of red pepper flakes with black pepper. Turned out excellent, kids and husband loved it. Definitely will make again. Thanks for the recipe.

This was pretty good, but now where in the recipe or any of the reviews could I find any mention on how to serve the sausage. Do you take it out of the casing before cooking? Cook and serve whole? Cut into pennies? Well, I cut the sausage into pennies and that seemed to work out okay....I think there was too much spinach. If I make it again I will cut that about in half.....otherwise it was pretty good and pretty fast to make. Thanks! 4/09... I must update my review after reading some of the others and making this again tonight. Thanks to all of the suggestions of other reviewers I made the following huge improvements: 1)took the sausage out of the casing and broke up the meat & 2)used a big handful of raw spinach instead of frozen. It was a big hit and still very easy to make. The result was very flavorful. Thanks again!

Easy and tasty. Will definitely make this again. Added some smoked paprika to the mix to give a little more flavour. As with another reviewer, I also added 10 aspargus tips. Apart from the grease of the sausages, a healthy meal.

Good, basic recipe! I used whole-wheat pasta and I really liked it. I also added some mozz. cheese at the end, which in my opinion never hurts :) I only had a 16oz. package of frozen spinach, so I used that and it came out beautifully (but we really like spinach.) I used turkey sausage, as well, and used 1 1/2 lbs because I needed to use some up. All in all, fantastic dinner and I can't wait for the leftovers at lunch. Thanks for sharing!

I just made this recipe tonight and it was delicious! I found it looking for a recipe for sausage and pasta. It was quick and I had all the ingredients for it in my freezer and cabinets. My husband and my 4 year old and 2 year old sons loved it. I will definitely make it again.

Very tasty. I will substitute turkey sausage next time though, to make it healthier. I will also cut back on the basil a bit. I used a teaspoon of freeze-dried, and it was kind of overpowering.

WOW- I loved it! My daughter and husband thought too much salt (I used boullion because I had no broth) and my 6 year old got it down but not without much coaxing- he didn't like the looks of it. I did add the red wine also like some others suggested. All in all- a 4 star and a repeat most likely-

Very good - I added celery, red and jalapeno pepper (seeded) and used 2 small fresh tomatoes and fresh spinach instead of canned/frozen. I used shredded parmigiano reggiano cheese and chicken spinach sausage. Excellent flavors together!

This is an excellent supper for week nights. The only modification I made was to use fresh spinach versus frozen and added it to my colander prior to draining my pasta so that it cooked it slightly. This is a keeper.

Just made this dish and really enjoyed it. I used asparagus instead of spinach, and added a dash of red wine (as was suggested by others). I used Italian seasoning, instead of just basil. This was deeeee-lish!

I just made this recipe. It's still simmering on the stove as I "speak". The official verdict is that this is VERY good. I layered my flavorings by using fresh and dried herbs as well as seasoning salt and paprika. I also added a splash of red wine. The end result is a very tasty dish.
