These were really good. However, I didn't use bacon because I dont really like it and it was just for me. I also used turkey sausage and low fat cream cheese.

This is very close to my standard Popper recipe (currently peanut butter stuff is my favorite). I normally cut the amount of sausage, cream cheese, and bacon in half. For those that say these are a bit greasy you are correct. What I do to prevent this; instead of cutting the jalapeno in half, just cut the top and use a spoon to rake out the seeds, if you have one, you can use a jalapeno corer. Then stuff the mixture inside the jalapeno and wrap the whole jalapeno in a half a slice of bacon, hold with toothpick, and cook as directed flipping the jalapenos once. This keeps the bacon grease from getting in the stuffing.

These are super good! I added 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture before stuffing the peppers. I placed them under the broiler for a few minutes at the end to crisp up the bacon. I was even able to flip them over without loosing any filling to crisp up the bacon on the bottom. I will use a wire rack to bake them next time so they don't sit in grease. Don't forget to wear gloves... I forgot and paid for it all evening. OUCH!

Yum yum yum!! This is the first time I've seen this recipe with the 'bonus' sausage & it really did put something special in the dish. A total hit that was simple enough to make. Definitely being added to my appetizer list!

Made these last night and they were AWESOME! I did however add a touch of garlic powder, 1/2 cup of freshly grated parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup of mild cheddar. My boyfriend ate most of the 30 that I made. I cut the recipe in 1/2 because it's just the two of us. Will be making these again soon.

The only change I made to this was to use mexican "queso fresco" so that it wouldn't ooze out when cooking. The results were phenomenal. My family could not stop raving about them, including those that don't particularly like jalapenos. Some of them did turn out a bit spicy, but nothing that couldn't be handled.

WOW!!! I make a version of these on the grill but these are by far our favorite!!! I did not change anything to the recipe however I did make these on 3 different occassions in the last week and found the following to be helpful. they take about 10 minutes longer for the bacon to be done and crispy but the extra cook time makes the jalapenos literally fall apart so the second time we broiled them for a few minutes at the end instead of cooking them longer. next time we are gonna use a whole piece of bacon for each to "seal them in" and grilput em on the grill

These were the fastest appetizer to go at my recent party everyone loved them even my picky sister. Took another reviewers advice cut and deveined the peppers under water,it worked fabulously.I also pre cooked the bacon for about a minute in the microwave. Thank you for making all my friends & family think I rock!!

These are a great appetizer. As the recipe reads, they will come out greasy and take a lot longer in the oven than stated. Save yourself a lot of work: Par cook 5 slices of bacon at a time for 3 1/2 minutes in the microwave. Cut each pice of par-cooked bacon in half. Lay a half slice of bacon on top of each prepared jalapeno. Cook in oven until bacon is browned to your liking. The jalapenos will still be crunchy. No messing with toothpicks and much of the bacon grease will be eliminated. Also good stuffed with plain shredded mozzarella instead of the cream cheese mixture. I will post a picture of some made this way.

I have been making these for a while and they are ALWAYS a hit...I get requests for them everytime I have a get together...the only thing I do differently is add about 3/4 cup of shredded parmesan cheese to the cream cheese and sausage mixture...it makes them even more scrumptious!
