I am from Germany and this was one of our favorite foods to make. Homemade authentic spaetzle with sauerkraut and breadcrumbs sauteed in butter. Delicious.

This was my grandmothers recipe and it has remained a family favorite... It should be served with roast pork, sauerkraut and a nice glass of beer.

This goes great with German type cuisine. The long, low temperature cooking time is imperative to allow the ingredients to caramelize thoroughly.
