Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup water, divided
  • 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar or cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 12 gingersnaps, crumbled

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, 3/4 cup water, bread crumbs, onion, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture; mix well. Shape into eight patties.
  2. In a large skillet, brown patties on both sides; drain. Add the broth, vinegar, brown sugar, cloves, bay leaf, gingersnaps and remaining water. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is no longer pink. Discard cloves and bay leaf before serving.

Very, very good. And considering you use chop meat instead of a rump makes it extremely good.... MORE
