This was SO GOOD!! I did everything the recipe said including the coffee and when it was done, I added bbq sauce, and put some of the juice back in and put it in the crock pot for another hour.

This is a fantastic recipe and a family favorite. The only thing I do differently is add a half a stick of butter when it's roasting in the crock pot and then we add BBQ sauce to the finished product. I have made as many as 5 roasts at a time for a big family reunion and party. Is WONDERFUL! Love the hint of flavor that the coffee gives it!

This is very good!!! I love that you cut the roast in half because before adding the BBQ sauce I pulled half out for other recipes. I drained the juices and added Sweet Baby Rays and made the French Bread Roll to die for and YUMMY!!

Wonderful! Thank you for such an easy, and just great tasting recipe. I didn't grow up eating pork, so I didn't know which cut of it to use to make pulled pork (which I have grown to LOVE), or how to cook it. Used decaf coffee because we have a little one who we don't give caffeine to yet, but no other changes made to the recipe. Just a note: I was really worried about the amount of liquid when I started the recipe. I thought maybe the meat would dry out without being completely covered in liquid - but it turned out just fine - no dryness at all.

Holy lip smacking good!! This is, hands down, bar none, the BEST pulled pork I have ever had!! I had a 6.5lb pork butt roast, cut it in half and trimmed off some of the really visible fat on the bottom of it (but left much of it for flavor), put it in the crock pot, poured a can of beef broth and the coffee over it and let it do its thing! The only thing I changed was the time. I started it at 10:00 last night and when I got up this morning at 5am it seemed good but wasn't quite as tender as I'd like, probably because it's a bigger roast. So I let it go on low all day while I was at work. Came home at 4:00 - it literally fell off the bone it was so tender, I had to actually use a spoon to get it out of the crock pot! Took a couple of forks and shredded it... perfection! So it cooked a looooong time... about 15 hours. I have to tell you - the longer it cooks, the more tender and flavorful it gets! Do NOT be afraid to let it cook on low all night and all day before you serve it! Poured a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's honey BBQ sauce and put it back in the crock pot for another hour to let the flavors blend. Served it with cole slaw (I like to put slaw on top of it on the roll) and I've got to tell you, there's nothing much tastier than this! This is hands down a favorite in my household from now on!

So easy and turned out perfect! I rubbed paprika on the pork before cooking as another reviewer suggested. I cooked about 7 hours. The texture was great and I'll definitely make again!

The pork turns out well, but too soupy for my taste. I would recommend draining it before shredding. I don't make it this way anymore though, now I just use BBQ sauce and a little bit of root beer and it comes out just as good as this recipe.

Simple and perfect. Just rub the pork with salt, pepper and for me paprika, then add to the slow cooker. I did add the beef broth and after about 10 hours my 8 1/2lbs of pork was fork tender. I drained the juices of the fat and then put the juices and shredded pork back in the cooker till it was time to eat. Everyone loved it!!

I brought this in for a potluck at work today. Everyone said they loved it and there wasn't a bit left in crockpot so I guess they really did! This was super easy for a work pot luck, I just cooked it overnight and let it cool in the morning as I was getting ready. It was easy to shred it with a fork, put my own homemade BBQ sauce on it, take it to work and reheat it in the crockpot. Thanks Sarge! It's a keeper! :)

This was delicious, but I simplified it a lot. I followed the suggestion of other reviewers and just put the pork in the slow cooker covered with plain bbq sauce all day long, after about 10 hours or so we pulled the meat away from the fat and shredded it a bit, it was so tender and moist. We put it all in a casserole dish, poured the bbq sauce + juices from the slowcooker over it, and cooked it in the oven at a low temp, covered in foil, for another hour until folks arrived. We used kaiser buns and also topped it on the sandwich with more bbq sauce, sweet baby rae's, which was fine straight out of the fridge and not warmed up. We used 4lbs boneless pork and it was enough for 10-12 sandwiches. Also excellent when reheated. YUM!

I have made this twice now and it as been very moist and tender both times. I use a 2.5 lb. roast for four of us and that is plenty. Takes about six hours or so to cook through on Low. When it's done, dump the liquid , shred the pork, and add a full bottle of bbq sauce. I used Stubb's Original last night. Piled the meat onto toasted kaiser buns and served with a cold pasta salad. Delicious!

This pulled pork was OK; however, I need to read more reviews and try and get a little more kick into the basic recipe. I do think the best pulled pork recipes will be cooking the meat without the aid of a BBQ sauce.

this was so good, but all i did was put the pork shoulder in the crock pot with 1/2 bottle of bbq sauce and let it go for 8 hours. i drained off that juice, "pulled the pork," added the pork back to the crock pot, added some more sauce and warmed it for another 30 minutes. easy and very good.
