Lovely applesauce, just the right sugar/cinammon combination. Great with potato pancakes! I am just now making a sugar free (Splenda) version for my daughter. I added a little less than 1 1/3 c of water and just under 1/2 c. of splenda, and upped the cinammon a bit.

I made this today for my 8 month old daughter and she absolutly loved it. After every bit she would smile and yell ( when she yells she wants more and your not feeding her fast enough) or say mmmmm. I have a feeling I will be making this often. My 8 year old is at school and hasn't had any yet but I know she is going to love it and want to help make it next time.

Absolutely delicious. I used McIntosh Apples, and I used 5 large apples and than followed the rest of the recipe exactly, and it turned out perfect! I made this for Thanksgiving and I had no leftovers to take home!

Excellent and easy recipe. A little too watery once the heating was complete. Drained a majority of the leftover water and the applesauce was still perfectly moist. I would definitely make this recipe again.

Very good! I especially liked the review that recommended the crock pot. I put mine on low and let it cook overnight. Turned out great! Thanks!

I served doughnuts for breakfast and needed a slightly healthier side-- and the applesauce was PERFECT! I replaced the 1/4 cup of white sugar with 1/8 c. (2 Tbsp.) brown sugar and 1/8 c. Splenda. It was delicious, everyone agreed. I was very generous with the cinnamon, and even added a dash of nutmeg for extra spice. I took a potato masher to it to get the right consistency.

I had a bunch of golden delicious apples that I had to use up in the fridge before they went bad. I doubled up the recipe and used 8 apples. I didn't adjust the recipe at all and it was awesome! Instead of a fork or potato masher, I used my handy electric stick blender....worked so quickly! :) I didn't even wait for it to cool down. I gave some to my 4 year old daughter and she is wanting seconds. Thanks, Sarah! :)

Very good. Make a big batch in your slow-cooker (takes 4 hrs on high as someone else said), you'll regret it if you don't. I used a combination of apples to get sweet and sour flavors. Serve with a sprinkle of wheat germ for a special touch!

Very good ! I used 6 apples, 1/4 cup of sugar, and just over a 1/2 tsp of cin. I agree that the different kinds of apples will cause the sugar to vary. I will make it again.

simple stuff is somtimes best!! My daughter prefers "pink" applesauce (with berries added) and I could not find a pink applesauce recipe here so I just modified this one: I subsituted 1/4c of strawberry jam for the 1/4 c of sugar and it was a big hit. (I also cut the cinnamon back to 1/4 tsp with the berries in it).

An excellent recipe! Made no changes, followed the simple directions and got jarfuls of yummy fresh, homemade applesauce. I don't think apple sauce can get better than that!

This is a fine recipe...but why stop at such a small amout? What I do is wash and core the apples, I leave the peelings on, they give the applesauce a nice pink color. I fill up my largest pan with apples and add a little water to cover the bottom and cook until mushy. Then put it through a food mill or seive to get the skins out. Add sugar and spices to taste.
