Got lots of looks...definitely something different. I followed others suggestions and added taco seasoning to cream cheese layer and to sour cream. Then topped with chopped peppers, tomatoes, and black olives. It did look impressive! I served it on a large platter and surrounded it with tortilla chips so people would know it was a dip-like appetizer. Got good reviews from those who tried it. However, I was very disappointed in the crust...the chips turned out chewy. Would make again if I could figure out my trouble with the crust, or an alternative to it.

Thanks to all for their suggestions about adding flavor. I almost over-cooked it, but it was okay. Everyone thought it had refried beans in it, not that I almost burned it, LOL. I added cilantro to the tomatoes, peppers, and onion on top then sprinkled with black olive slices.

I found this to be a very good recipe, but did find that if you didn't explain what it was to guests they were weird about it! I did add a package of taco seasoning to the cream cheese and really liked it. Served with tortilla chips

I couldn't find shredded Jack cheese and wasn't in the shredding mood so substituted 4 Cheese Mexican. I did add some taco seasoning from Costco, which is different than the little envelopes, and wouldn't do that again. I added more cheese to the top before baking and that made a very pretty yellow top. Left off the sour cream. Didn't get raves at my Bunco party, but I think it was the taco seasoning. Will try with the envelope kind next time, or leave out altogether. Served with picante sauce. Really pretty appetizer with the toppings and quick and easy.

I took this to a Memorial Day cookout and it was a huge hit. I added cumin and chopped sun dried tomatoes to the cheese mixture and chili powder to the sour cream for extra flavor. I think the sun dried tomatoes really gave it some zip. This will be my new dish to take to get-togethers. Very Yummy.

I think that the cream cheese layer needs a touch more flavor to it, so I add 1/2 a package of taco seasoning to the mixture then mix the rest of the taco seasoning with the sour cream topping. I think the seasonings balance out the cream cheese taste. I like to make concentric circles around the top with black olives and diced tomatoes and chopped green onions. Most people prefer to eat this as a dip or spread rather than on its own.

This looks amazing and tastes great. I took it to an appetizer party and everyone loved it. When I make it again I will either add a little more green chilies or extra chili powder (I added about 1/4 tsp). Great recipe!

Absolutely FANTASTIC! The flavor was wonderful The only setback is the fact that this is a savory cheesecake and not a sweet one so people were a little confused. I am making it again for a family party in January 2007.

I made this for a teacher's luncheon. I added chopped cilantro and chili powder before baking. It looked beautiful on a cake stand garnished with tomatoes, green and yellow peppers and cilantro, and served with red and green tortilla chips. The teachers raved about it and want the recipe. Next time I make it, I think I'll decorate it with an avocado flower and serve it alongside guacamole! Thank you!!
