This was a huge hit at my reccent BBQ. I could't even fill the bowl before people were coming back for seconds. I agree with some of the other reviews that it is best to let it sit for 24 hours before serving. All the flavors marinate then. I will definitely be making this for the girls trip later this year!

This is the only red sangria recipe I use! The flavors are spot on. I don't add the sugar or cherries, but I do top off the drink with a little lemon/lime soda! Delicioso!

If I ever make this again, I'll follow some of the other reviewers suggestion and use rum instead of brandy. I thought the brandy was overwhelming and there was a faint bitterness to the total taste. Maybe I'm just not a sangria person!!!!

Wow! I tripled the recipe as I made this for a big party and it was a huge hit. It is by far the best sangria I have ever had. The only change I made was to omit the sugar and use 7-up instead of carbonated water. I also took the hint from other reviewers and added just 1/2 cup of peach schnapps to the tripled recipe. I think 1/2 cup per one recipe would have been too overpowering. The only complaint was why didn't I make more! There was not a drop left by the end of the night.

Best Sangria ever!! This is a keeper I will definitely make again. I made a double batch and it disappeared. The only changes I made to the recipe was I didn't have any lemon juice so I substituted pineapple juice from canned pineapple chunks and I used Ginger Ale instead of Club Soda. I also added additional fruit I had on hand which included apples, pineapple chunks, and oranges.

Skipped the sugar and used gingerale in place of the carb water. I added a little cherry juice and chunks of pineapple. Used cheap merlot for the wine. I am basing the 5 stars off of what hubs and my father in law had to say- they both love red wine and they both loved this. They were skeptical b/c Sangria is usually too sweet. Leaving the sugar out worked for them.

OMG....this is the BEST sangria ever!! I made it for a party, everyone loved it and constantly being asked to bring it to the next party or people asking for the receipe. The only thing I did differently was omitted the sugar completely and used gingerale instead of carbonated water. If you prefer an even less sweet drink then go with the carbonated water. Perfect everytime.

Ding ding ding ding ... we have a winner! My wife, daughter, and daughter-in-law are big sangria fans - especially in the summer. I made this over the weekend, and it was a huge hit. I didn't have limes or cherries so I substituted a frozen margarita mix for the lemonade concentrate. That gave it the lime flavor, and I don't think we missed the cherries. Other than that I followed the recipe exactly using the club soda instead of ginger ale. Great recipe! We'll be doing it again. Thanks HJACOBY!
