I made this for a BBQ, quadrupling the original recipe, and it was all gone before the end of the night. My guests raved about it and they all wanted the recipe. I also used ginger ale in place of the club soda and only added half the sugar. It was the best sangria I have ever had and will be making this over and over again. Thanks for sharing it!

Wonderful recipe! The entire batch was gone almost immediately. I cut down on the amount of sugar used and opted to add all of the cherry juice from the maraschino cherries for extra sweetness...yummy! I also decided to add apples as well but found that it is best to add them right before serving so that they do not soak up all of the alcohol (they were pretty potent the first time I made this recipe and allowed the apples to soak overnight). By far the BEST Sangria recipe I have come across. Thanks for sharing!!

The recipe is GOOD...but...after making it once, we altered it to include 2 more bottles of red wine, changed the triple sec to Gran Marnier and left out the sugar, opting instead for the cherry juice as the sweetner along with the Ginger Ale instead of the Soda. Awesome! Made 5 gallons and it was even better the next day!

I second the person's opinion that this is a very forgiving recipe. I used a red zinfandel wine that I had on hand, with everything as directed except triple sec because I didn't have any. Went over well for a tapas party and complimented my theme perfectly.

CRAZY good! I've made this many times over the past year or two and anytime I bring it to a party, bbq, whatever there is never any left and I always get requests for the recipe. I use cheap red wine (usually Trader Joe's 2-buck-chuck merlot) and usually use a peach or apricot brandy, and in a pinch I've used peach schnapps in lieu of the triple sec (hey, whatever works, right?!), and aside from the listed fruit I'll also throw in oranges, frozen or fresh strawberries, basically just whatever I have on hand. It's worth the ingredients and the time it takes for the flavors to blend. Yummy-yum-yum!!!!!!

Great recipe! I didn't have triple sec so I added some Grand Marnier instead, I also omitted the cherries, and added a bottle of sparkling white wine instead of carbonated water or club soda, as other reviewers had suggested. Packs a strong punch, but tastes great (do be sure to let it sit before serving, though).

this was delish--and super strong! The fruit does an awesome job of hiding exactly how intense this sangria is! I added extra cherries. we also used ginger ale instead of club soda. Definitely let it all marinate over night . . . it tastes completely different (better) that way! I used cheap box red wine (which is why I made sangria in the first place). We didn't like the box wine, but it would've been alcohol abuse to throw it away, so I found this recipe to save it. It worked!!! Thanks!

This was ok. I used a port wine instead of brandy which may have caused the really strong taste. And I didn't use sugar and added sprite before serving. Everything else I did the same but it was too potent for me. Once I added the sprite it was much better but still disappointing after all the great reviews.

Loved it! I followed recipe to the T except for the sugar. I dont like Too sweet drinks, and let it sit 24 hrs. After it was done marinating I tasted it and was like oh no. Citrus without enough sweet so i added some sugar and 7 Up. FABULOUS!!!! I made it for my daughters 21st birthday party and everyone loved it. I put out wine too and nobody touched it. I put a bowl of extra fruit out, strawberries, blueberries, lemons, limes and oranges for people to add as they like. My new favorite drink!

This is the first recipe that I have ever rated on AllRecipes, although I have been using the site for years! Love, LOVE this recipe. Always gets rave reviews. I did decide not to add sugar or carbonated water, but instead used lemon-lime soda. I use a 1:1 ratio. Very refreshing!

Deeeelicious! Served it to a group that included some former bartenders who have very high standards for beverages like this, and they agreed this was among the best sangria they've ever had.

Good recipe - only change made was to use Grand Mariner instead of the Triple Sec, as I am not a fan of triple sec. My boyfriend made this for a party and everyone loved it. The leftover fruit is addictive!

Made this for my weekend bbq and it was a huge hit. Used apples, pears, cherries and mangoes. My only grip is I didn't double the recipe. Next time I know better. Can't wait to make this again.

This is the best Sangria! Made it with Merlot, however any dry red wine will do. The brandy gives it a "kick" so it is a bit strong at first so do let it sit if you can. Have served it immedately after making it with no complaints :)
