Great base recipe. A little too much citrus for me though. On my second batch I followed the directions exactly, except I omitted the lemon juice, limes and lemons. Also, omitted the club soda/ginger ale. I added mangos and pears (plus the oranges) instead and it was fabulous!! I served it at a neighborhood party and it was a hit.

Delicious and STRONG! I was going to a potluck lunch at a friend's house where I didn't know the other guests. The sangria was a hit the second I walked through the door - who doesn't like sangria? After a glass of this stuff, forget about being shy! Be particularly careful measuring out the frozen lemonade as it changes the sweetness of the recipe dramatically. Think about making two batches and letting them marinate with the sliced fruit overnight. My first batch was gone really fast! Definitely worth purchasing the hard liquor.

Made a double batch and was glad I did...I forgot the OJ, I let it sit overnight, but tried a glass before bedtime and I rested well. ;-)

I use 7-Up instead of sugar and carbonated water, and I make sure to slice the fruits thickly, otherwise I find it's a little too much citrus for my taste. I've also been adding red raspberries and pineapples recently - super good!

Well it may not have been the very best I ever had but it certainly was good, refreshing and wonderful on a hot Texas day.

Delicious! This is best Sangria recipe I have found. It definitely needs to sit overnight for best flavor.

This recipe is unbeatable! I made 6 gallons of this the night before as one of the cocktails for my daughter's wedding. It was all gone during the appetizers!!! (and we had an open bar - guests could have anything) Everyone LOVED IT!!!

This is always a hit. I eliminate the cherries, can't stand them, and add whatever fruit/berries I have laying around. Sliced pears, limes, oranges and whole blackberries is my favorite combination. If there's time, I like to make it the night before, and add cold ginger ale just before serving.

The sangria turned out great. My boyfriend, who is a sangria lover, said that this was the best he ever had and that he would pay for a drink like this!

I made a double batch (12 cups). For reference; all the ingredients came to 1 gallon. I did not add the sugar and opted for the Ginger Ale instead. I also left all the fruit in the pitcher and instead of floating slices I put a pineapple spear in with each 8 oz. glass (juice glass). It was a hit.

I made 3 batches of this for bunko last night and it got very good reviews. A nice change from the usual Margaritas. I tried Club Soda and also Sprite Zero---I definitely preferred the Sprite.

I completely agree with everyone on how great this Sangria is!! My only recommendation is that you don't just use one batch. The one and only batch I made went in about 5 minutes. It can serve about 5-6 servings. If you have a big crowd or you think that your guests will want more than one glass, double or triple this recipe! (Also, I omitted the sugar and water and added Sprite instead). It was Incredible!

This is heaven on a hot summer day!!!! Omit the sugar and swap sprite for the carbonated water. For the wine I recommend Carlo Rossi Cabernet - this giant jug so you can make a couple batches!

My friends and I have recently starting trying the Sangria at our favorite restaurants. So, I made this for a group of women at a jewelry party. I used Ginger Ale instead of the club soda. It was a HUGE hit and several people asked for the recipe! I will definitely make this time and again!
