This dish was delicious! I used whole wheat shell noodles and cream of mushroom soup because that's what I had on hand. :) I bet a can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of mushroom would rock out, too. Stir half way through and it'll help you avoid any overly crunchy noodles. :)

Quick and easy to make when you have left over chicken from the grill. I let it cook for an hour in order for the elbow mac. to cook threw. Next time I will try egg noodles and throw some canned fried onion on the top for little extra flavor.

This was a simple meal to make. Very tastey too! I fellowed it the same but put aluminum foil on top for a half hour then mixed it up and put it back in for 15 mins with no foil.

I made a few changes: used fresh chicken breast, omitted the mushrooms and onion (due to dietary reasons), added chopped roasted red peppers, used 1 can of cream of chicken and one can cream of celery soup. The casserole and a salad was a great dinner.

It was really good, but I did use the tenfoil on it as suggested and I did stir it up at about 20 minutes in to make sure all the noodles cooked. I also added minced onions, garlic, and various other seasonings. I also added mozzarella cheese too.

This was simply delicious! I did make some changes because of the ingredients I had on hand. I used penne instead on macaroni, and one can of cream of mushroom soup and one cream of chicken. I used half cheddar and half mozarella cheese. I also left out the mushrooms because my husband doesn't like them. I did not cook the pasta ahead of time, and it came out perfectly cooked. My whole family loved it. The great thing about the recipe is that it is adaptable to what you have in your pantry. I will definitely make it again, and probably try different combinations of pasta, cheese, and soups.

This was an awesome recipe! Thanks, Sandy! The noodles cooked perfectly and we did as other reviewers suggested by covering the dish with tin foil and using 1 can of cream of mushroom in addition to the cream of chicken. The french fried onions were a nice touch! Definitely going to make this dish again and again!!!!

This was great! I made it for dinner last night and I'm eating leftovers for lunch right now. I read the other reviews, so I did boil the macaroni for about 4 minutes. I also didn't have onion so I through in onion powder, garlic powder, and some red pepper flakes. Awesome! My 2 year old daughter kept saying "Yummy!"

Yummy! I intended to follow this recipe to the letter and because of the ingredients I lacked, it was slightly altered. My can of chicken was 9 oz., cream of chicken soup was 26 oz. and I only had shell pasta on hand. So, I used the entire box of shell pasta, and added an extra cup of milk to the soup. Also, I only had a a white cheese blend on hand. My family was in heaven!!! I will tuck this recipe away for the left over chicken or turkey we have on hand. Thanks a bunch!

Huge hit in our house. I made exactly as called for minus the mushrooms (because my husband used them) and the onions (because I don't like them) and it was great. I stirred once throughout to keep it mixed. My husband said to keep it around.

I read several reviews and decided to give the recipe with the following changes. 1. I used no yolk egg noodles, just a personal preference 2. I used a rotissery chicken for the meat (we use those for all of casserole dishes) 3. I added more onion than called for, about a half cup 4. Added about a t. of garlic salt 5. Omitted the mushrooms (we aren't fans) 6. Covered with foil and baked for 45 minutes (no need to stir, then removed added frenchs onions and baked add'l 10 minutes to crisp up. Turned out great! I loved the simplicity of it. Given the type of noodle I will check for doneness at 35 mins then remove foil and bake add'l 10 as the noodles seemed almost too done. Definetly a great recipe to have in the rotation!

I really had my doubts about this recipe, but I've made it about 5 times, and going to make it again tonight. My honey and I absolutely love it. I used onion powder instead of chopped onion, and leave out the mushrooms. I also add a drained can of corn, and a drained can of sweet peas, just to add some vegetables. The noodles are always perfectly cooked (Stirring in the middle of the cooking time is key!) and it's a very filling and satisfying dish.

This was a super easy really great tasting recipe! I did make a few small changes like only using about 1 1/2 cups of milk, I also used onion powder instead of chopped onion just because I was too lazy to chop up some up! I also reserved about a 1/2 cup of cheese til the end. I cooked this for about an hour and added the reserved cheese and a cup of corn flakes on top for the last 5 min. the cheese melted and browned and the corn flakes gave it a crunchy texture that I thought it needed. I Will be making this again!

This was a very good, very easy cassarole. I used one can cream of chicken and one can of cream of mushroom soup. I left out the mushrooms since my DH doesn't like, and used onion powder instead of the chopped. I topped with the crunchy fried onions during the last 10 minutes of cooking. My husband was standing at the stove eating it out of the casserole dish!

Instead of using canned chicken, I poached 4 breasts is a saucepan and while i cut them in to bite size pieces i threw the noodles in the chicken water so they would soften a little. By the time i was done with the chicken, the noodles were about halfway cooked. It turned out great and I will just add whatever veggies I have on hand when I make it again. Very kid-friendly. If you use reduced-fat soup and whole wheat noodles, it's better for you and tastes just as good. Oh, and instead of chopped onions I garnished with french-fried onions. Yum!
