Good recipe. I cut each breast in half then put them in a gallon size plastic bag. I pounded each piece until they were between a quarter to half an inch thick. Using a fork I poked holes in each piece before adding the taco seasoning. I also added extra cheese. Very tender and tasty.

Phenomenal!!! This was one of THE BEST chicken dishes I've ever had!!! I seasoned the chicken with Taco Seasoning I from this site and spooned enough salsa over the breasts and around the dish with some extra salsa liquid poured in. I put the dish into the fridge for about 10-15 minutes while preparing Mexican Rice II from this site. I let the chicken bake for 30 minutes before throwing a couple of slices of colby jack (closest thing I had to cheddar) on top of each breast. At that time, I also threw some spinach into the dish and mixed it into the liquid. I turned on the broiler until the cheese was bubbly and golden. The chicken was sooo moist and tender from baking in the salsa!!! It also had great flavor from the seasoning! My mom, who hates chicken breasts because they tend to be dry, loved this dish! She couldn't believe chicken breasts could actually be so tasty and tender! I can't wait to make salsa chicken again! Thanks! I just realized I had forgotten all about the sour cream. Either way, it was still delicious!

Maybe I needed to cook it longer. This was okay but the chicken was a bit tough.

Actually made a sort of "shepherds pie" - Mexican style! Made this chicken - cut it up small and layered it with corn/onions, and sauteed then mashed potatoes with some hots for spiciness. When serving, put out sour cream and salsa for guests to add to taste. Excellent! Thanks for the inspiration!

This. is. AWESOME!!! Super easy and sooo good! I just put the chicken in a ziplock bag, threw in the taco seasoning, and shook it up to coat. Worked like a charm ;)

Five stars because it is super fast and super yummy! I used chicken tenders rather than chicken breasts so that each bite of chicken would be seasoned. I'm so glad I did. DELICIOUS. I served it with steamed veggies, spanish rice, and refried beans. Will make it again!

My boyfriend and I definitely enjoyed this. I put the chicken in a ziplock bag with the taco seasoning, which I think is a must! Per 79Shale97's review, I used the Rotel tomatoes with lime juice and cilantro and am glad I used that instead of salsa. I also used blended monterey jack with cheddar cheese because it was what I had on hand. Other than that, I did everything the same as written. It was a lot more spicy than we were expecting, but just right for our tastes. Thanks for the recipe!

Very good. Taste like enchiladas without tortilla. Used 2 chicken breast, half jar of salsa, and half package of low sodium taco seasoning. Spicy! YUm. Great use of leftovers!

This recipe was good, not great. I think the use of the taco seasoning mix along with the salsa was too spicy. I made one for my son w/o the taco seasoning mix and liked that much better. Will make again, but w/o the taco seasoning mix.

Great recipe - I'm a new mom of twins, so time is of the essence when I'm trying to prepare a meal. Definitely use the Ziploc method - it's kind of impossible to sprinkle the seasoning evenly. I used extra mild taco sauce to ensure that it wouldn't be too spicy. End result was great (was still a little spicy but my 3 year old still ate it. Next time I'll use the Taco Seasoning I from this site to tone down the spices (I've made that recipe before and I don't think it has enough spice/heat for ground beef but it would be perfect for this recipe and I see quite a few other reviewers have used it). I also think that I could live without the cheese (if you are trying to make it lower in fat). Thanks for the recipe - wish I wouldn't have waited 2 years to try it ;)

Yum. Used the plastic bag toss method with a taco seasoning recipe from this site. Served with sour cream and guacamole, mexican rice from this site that I added sauted zucchini and pinto beans and steamed farm corn. Really good summer dinner. My 5 year old gobbled it up!

WHY THIS IS 5 STARS: Simply because you can make something that is CHEAP and SURPRISINGLY delicious in 5 minutes ...and that's going really slow! Don't bother looking at the specifics as far as amounts. Or even what it will taste like with "ick" taco seasoning on it... first off, you won't taste the taco seasoning and that's with putting a large amount over entire breast. To finish this in 25 min at 375, you should pound these to 1/2" thick (basically take one breast and cut in half). Put pam in a 13X9, breasts, seasoning (again, don't be shy), then put any salsa on. I fit as much as I can fit on each breast. Even using hot, the cheese really subdues the hotness so don't worry about it. My toddlers eat it and they typically don't like MEAT (guess the key is all the cheese lol). Bake, and then as stated, sprinkle as much of any kind of cheese on top for the last 5-10 min. So simple. If you want an equally simple and QUICK mexican rice, try "BEST SPANISH RICE" ...you'll be shocked by the taste!
