"While not a traditional Filipino dish, my grandmother added the necessary proportions of canned pink salmon, tomatoes, onion, and loads of garlic to make this dish a Filipino family favorite. Serve alone or on top of rice.

This is easy, delicious and versatile. I did make a few changes however. I used 2 cups chicken broth and 1/2 cup of water in place of the water, to add more flavor. I also used a can of sliced tomatoes and broke them up a bit. I also added 2 stalks of celery and 3 slender carrots to the garlic and onion. The last 5 minutes I threw in 2 cups of chopped fresh spinach. Also, one 6 oz. can of salmon was enough for my taste. This can go in an Italian or Asian direction depending on how you season it. I will make it again. (Fresh salmon and basil would really knock it out of the park.)

Great and easy to make stew! I used chicken broth instead of water. I also used less broth..more like 1 cup and 1/2. I prefer stew consistency vs. soup. Added 2 tablespoon of brown sugar as well.
Loved this stew! I read the reviews and added celery like someone else did. The only thing is that I didn't add the optional ingredients because I didn't have them. Next time I make this I think I will add more tomatoes because I love them. I am so thankful for this receipe because now I have a new way to cook salmon, and I love soups and stews.
WoW so glad I tried so simple to make made it the first time with canned tomatoes and added celery and carrots I love it!! This time making it with fresh tomatoes cant wait to eat it again!!! My skin cancer Doctor told me to eat lots of salmon helps my cancer glad I tried this recipe!!!!
I LOVE THIS! Ironically, I added similar ingredients as another reviewer did before I read the reviews. To make it more hearty, I added celery, carrots, spinach, and even a little cabbage and cauliflower because I love vegetables. Next time I will add some cubed potatoes as well. I also used chicken broth instead of water, and added half a can of diced tomatoes with chilies. Delicious and so healthy!
