Excellent. Love it. A great way to eat what has become a tired ingredient in our house- Salmon. Could also add broccoli or asparagus to make it a little more healthy. Going to try that next time.

This was my first time making any chowder...... and When I served it, I served it as if I had been making it for years! My family loved it!

We really loved this! It was a bit bland, but salt and pepper worked.

I followed other comments and added corn, carrots, thyme and dill. My husband and I enjoyed it very much.

Great basic recipe! As a variation, I used leeks instead of onions, added carrots and their tops (similar to parsley, only more mild in flavor), added thyme (dill would also be good, but I didn't have any), a shot of hot sauce (vinegar/cayenne/garlic), and added a lemon (squeezed in the juice, then dropped the rind in the pot to simmer)! Added some frozen peas at the end :) Yummmmmmm...

Very tasty chowder and so easy to put together! The bacon adds a wonderful smoky flavor that pairs well with the salmon. Perfect on a cold fall evening.

This was very tasty. I did not add the bacon, because I did not have any, and will try it like that another time, but the salmon flavour really came through. I did add fresh dill, extra sea salt, and a bit of Garlic seasoning. Was delicious :)

I liked this recipe because it had no packaged or canned ingredients. I had some 'salmon for chowder' remnants from the butcher at Sprouts that looked so good and were so cheap I had to try it! Glad I did. I boiled up the fish and skins in salt water instead of chicken broth and made my own fish broth, took about half an hour. Meanwhile I cooked up the diced peeled potato. I removed the fish to cool so I could discard the skins and any bones, combined the broth with cooked potatoes and fish, added the seasonings (extra salt, pepper, dill and thyme), chopped dried onion instead of fresh, about half the milk, omitted the cream and thickened a bit with a flour rue. Yummy!
