Great recipe! Easy, quick and the 1st time I have served a meal in months that all 3 kids have liked. Would omit the salt. Little too salty. French onion soup adds enough sodium to this recipe. Also a very inexpesive recipe to make on a budget.

As is this was good, we didn't like the ketchup and not enough gravy at the end. But it is easy to modify to make it great for your own tastes. I added brown gravy mix and 1 cup water to the final gravy instead and we loved it. I also used 1/2 ground beef and 1/2 ground turkey for the meat and it was just as good. This is a keeper for my family.

Dee-lish! My hubby told me to make sure keep this recipe. I did change it up just a hair: I didn't have the onion soup, so I grated 1/2 an onion into the meat mixture and made my own beef stock using soup base. The gravy from this is so good, it is now my new beef gravy recipe. Way to go Kelly!!

This was a great meal with a few changes. I substituted the sauce for 2 cans of the 12 oz Heinz beef gravy and mixed it with 2 tablespoons of French onion recipe mix. It was terrific. I also changed the regular bread crumbs for Italian bread crumbs and added a 2 tablespoons of French onion recipe mix. Family loves it!

When I decided to make this recipie our local store was out of french onion soup so I used an altered recipie someone else posted with Golden Mushroom soup and take out the ketchup. It was PERFECT! I would give it a 5 star. I tried it again with 100% the original recipie (french onion and ketchup) and we threw just about all of it out, no one liked it. I would say the meat and style in which it is prepared is perfect, but the flavors of the sauce will make of break this dish, so I gave it a 3. The recipie I wrote down in my book was altered to exclude ketchup, use Golden Mushroom soup and double the sauce to put over mashed potatoes.

This recipe is very good, and as others have said it tastes even better as leftovers the next day. You really need to double the sauce, there simply isn't enough to pour over whatever starch you're serving it with. I think this recipe is good as it is, salisbury steak is traditionally very simple and there's only a few ingredients here, so to me it's perfect as it is. It makes me wonder why a lot of the other reviewers seem compelled to add ingredients such as powdered gravy mix, which is basically just salt and cornstarch, or mushroom soup, which has no business in salisbury steak.

Simple to make and EASY to eat! Great flavor, moist meat, and if you can make more gravy, perfect to pair with mashed potatoes or rice. Will definitely make again!

This is really good, but instead of the ketchup I used bbq sauce. It was way better than the ketchup.

I made this for my picky family and once they took one look at it they wouldn't even try it! I ate it that night and it was ok but then I brought it to work about 2 days later to have for lunch and I loved it. I thought it was better a couple of days later. I changed this up, I didn't use onion soup mix b/c the kids don't like onions so I used a package of brown gravy mix and I mixed it w/1 cup of water and a can of mushroom soup until thick. I used 93% hamburg and I used Pam to fry the steak then I poured over the gravy and put it all in the oven for about 20 minutes until the gravy was hot. Served on mashed potatoes. Oh course the family wanted to eat the mashed potatoes.

The family loved this, but because the gravy ingredients didn't look very appealing, I used Serena's advice and made gravy with dry mushroom-onion soup mix. This will go into the regular rotation.

Don't put worchestershire in the gravy, put it in the meat. It makes the gravy too salty.
