I liked the toast, but the glaze was not for me. I would rather have maple syrup on mine. :)

I made it exactly according to the recipe, and it was just okay. I specifically disliked the filling, and I love cream cheese fillings. I won't make this again, but I might serve regular French toast with a dollop of another cream cheese filling and the same sauce. I think that would be great.

I used mascarpone instead of cream cheese and omitted the nuts (my son doesn't like them), but otherwise followed the recipe. This made a special breakfast seem almost decadent.

This was ok, I didn't stuff the French toast, just cut 2 smaller slices which made it pretty easy. I think we might have enjoyed it more without the nuts, but it was a nice treat for Christmas breakfast. Thanks!

I stuck to the basic idea of this recipe.I sliced the french bread in half instead of stuffing it(made it much easier) cut out the nut's(i new my kid's wouldnt eat them)spread the cream cheese mixture on one side and used my strawberry jam i made this summer on the other, then made a "sandwich" out of both slices.Dipped in egg mixture.Topped it off with a small dollop of the cream cheese and drizzle with homade strawberry syrup. My kid's loved it i will be making this agin thnx :)

This was so wonderful. I did take a shortcut and use leftover eggnog instead of making an egg dip. There were no leftovers.

what a PAIN in the *&% to prepair!! haha!! but it was DELICIOUS! I ended up being like most of the people here and just cut the french bread very thin and put the filling between it and then stuck it together. It was ok...but next time I think I'm going to try and "over stuff" it. Living in Germany, we miss IHOPS "Stuffed French Toast" this is as close as we can get for now!

I also used 2 pieces of bread--great idea--because I have such trouble stuffing things (except my face:). My advice is to use a firm/hearty bread and not squishy Wonderbread.

I guess for a treat once in a great while this would be alright. Don't bother slicing the bread. Just use two slices.

I made a lot of changes to this recipe based on what I had in my kitchen, but I think I still stuck to its original intentions, and it turned out wonderful. I used macadamia nuts instead of walnuts or pecans, two slices of white bread for each 2 inch slice of French bread, whipping cream, and Smucker's strawberry jam instead of apricot preserves and orange juice. I had no trouble keeping the slices of bread together because the cream cheese mixture was sticky. This turned out really delicious and really filling, and it took about 30 minutes to make. I will definitely make this again. Thanks!

My family loved this. I left out the nuts because I knew they wouldnt like them. Used strawberry jam also. Also used whole milk instead of the cream. (didn't have any on hand) Also made a few using 2 slices of wholewheat bread and they stayed together just fine.
