Makes too much for just one 9 inch pie pan. But other than that it is a great recipe!

Best pie crust ever! When I made it the first time,I didn't have enough shortening to complete the recipe so substituted half the amount with butter. Came out perfect! I have also made it with butter flavored shortening and that is great too. I found that it makes enough for 1 double crust and 1 single.

This pie crust has a perfect balance of sturdiness and flakiness. It tastes awesome and doesn't need to be refridgerated for a long time before use, like a lot of other pastry recipes. However, the recipe yields too much pastry for one pie and not enough for two. Although, for Thanksgiving, I made a double crust apple pie and a single crust pumpkin pie, so it was the perfect amount.

This pie crust was the best. Even tho, this was the first pie I've ever made, my family and I agree the crust was light and flaky. It was easy to make. So since I was a first time pie maker....I would like to add (to others that may not know) that after blending the mixture together I divided the dough into two and chilled in the fridge for about 30-40 minutes before I rolled out. I could probably eat the crust by itself, it was so good! Guess I got lucky finding this recipe for my first try!

Wonderful! Nice and easy, super simple, fast. Cannot say enough nice things about this recipe and process! Oh and absolutely DELICIOUS! I did use ice water and it was super flaky and just melted perfectly in your mouth! I will never use another recipe or buy another store bought crust!

Very Good.... note: this crust thickens up while baking so keep that in mind if you are looking for a thinner crust.
