Not what I was expecting AT ALL! I was very excited about trying them too! Did EXACTLY as recipe called for but I was very disappointed. No flavor . Powder sugar was the best thing about it. I was hoping I found the recipe to a cookie my mom would make when we were kids. I will not be making these ever again. The hunt continues...

I followed the recipe exactly, and the cookies turned out buttery and melt-in-your-mouth soft. For the walnuts, I used a food processor to chop them because I wanted my cookies to be velvety smooth with a fine crumb. Overall, these cookies are very festive and definitely deserve a place on any Christmas cookie platter!

This recipe is so quick and easy. The tea cakes are a little dry for my taste, but I definitely will make these again and maybe next time eat them with hot cocoa or something! I took the advice of other users and made sure the butter was softer than room temp. That helped with the dough. Thx!

Always wanted to make these and thought it would be too hard. This recipe is simple, easy and absolutely delicious! I did as suggested and did a double coating and baked them just a tad longer about 15-16 mins. excellent!

These little cakes were a wonderfully simple and delicious way to spend twenty minutes! I followed the recipe exactly, but once all the ingredients had been mixed together, I kneaded the dough for about three minutes straight. Since the ingredients are basically a shortbread mix, the longer you knead, the shorter the texture. The cakes turned out wonderfully and very light. My family can't keep away from them!

Excellent recipe. I use a cookie dough scoop to be sure they are all the same size and bake evenly.

I have made a cookie just like this for years, only difference, I wrap the dough around an unwrapped Hershey kiss. Great surprise for the first bite!

very delicious, they're the crumble & melt in your mouth type of cookie. amazing with hot chocolate. I modified it using 1/2 cup of almonds & 1/2 cup of walnuts. Tastes fabulous. I used one of the reviewers suggestion of baking it at 310 degrees instead for about 14-15 minutes and they turned out perfectly. It's a hit everytime!!

I made these while my parents were away Christmas shopping. I piled them up high on a plate and placed them on the table. When they came home they were blown away. They told me they had had them before, but that the ones I made were by far the best. they ate them continuosly for the rest of the day. They told me they were the best cookies they had ever had and to make them whenever I could. They have told the rest of my family and I am expected to make them again for Christmas. Can't wait to get even MORE praise! Thanks so much for this recipe it's such a hit.

My Mormor made these every year at Christmas and were always a part of her large cookie spread on our Danish Christmas eve celebration. She passed a couple of years ago and I never got the recipe from her so I was overjoyed to find it here! I made these last night and they were the melt-in- your-mouth cookie that I remember. I did not have any problem with the dough being crumbly at all - I mixed the dough in my Kitchenaid after chopping the walnuts in the food processor. I did not roll them in the powdered sugar until the cookies were cooled - if you roll them when they are still warm the sugar melts against the cookie and I like the cookies looking snowy white. I ended up rolling them two to three times in the powdered sugar when they were cooled. Hint: you know the cookies are done when the tops just barely start to crack. You do not want to over bake.
