It was good, but not great. Recipe gives you a ton of extra oil mixture!

I am an event planner and made this turkey 8 times this year and each time it came out GREAT. Hands down my winning turkey and everyone raved about it. I have used fresh and dried herbs. Fresh is better but dried can work too with pretty equal results. The drippings made a great gravy too!

Being a vegetarian - but a darn good cook, I knew I needed a flavourful recipe for the turkey lovers. This turned out perfect. For convenience sake, I roasted it in a oven bag and without changing anything, it turned out very moist. Follow the roasting instructions on the bags if using them. The turkey lovers liked this a lot and it was perfect for me as I can not, more like will not, taste the finished bird to know otherwise !

So so so so good. My family loooved this turkey on Thanksgiving, they went on and on about how good it was. I paired it with the "awesome cranberry apple sausage" stuffing recipe from this site--perfect combination. I used an oven bag, and cooked the turkey breast-side down for most of the time, then flipped it for the last 2 hours (for presentation purposes). This seemed to make the meat extra moist.

I came across this recipe two years ago and I absolutely love it!! This is now my Thanksgiving turkey recipe. I never had the responsibility of cooking the turkey as we would go to family members houses for dinner, but since we moved, dinner is now done at home. The turkey is very flavorful and best of all it is ALWAYS moist. I do brine my turkey the day before with salt water and stuff it with my signature stuffing (stove top :P). If you don't mind getting your hands dirty it is definately worth it.

Great flavor, very good. Be sure to cover with foil early on so things stay moist!

This was good, but... the olive oil made the drippings greesy. Which made the gravy separate.

This was an excellent recipe - I think this is going to be our standard roast turkey recipe from now on. The turkey came out perfect! We altered it a little - we stuffed the turkey with a couple of lemons that had been boiled. We also poured about 1/2 a bottle of white wine and chicken broth in the roasting pan, with carrots, onions, and celery. We then used the pan drippings to make gravy.

This was my first turkey I ever made. It was so good and moist I did use butter instead of olive oil though. I got rave reviews on this for Thanksgiving and will use it again. I also put the bird in a bag when cooking. Terrific!!!
